Hyperspectral image enhancement has been a concern for the remote sensing society for detailed end member detection. Hyperspectral remote sensor collects images in hundreds of narrow, continuous spectral channels, whereas multispectral remote sensor collects images in relatively broader wavelength bands. However, the spatial resolution of the hyperspectral sensor image is comparatively lower th...

Early detection of oral cancer and its curable precursors can improve patient survival and quality of life. Hyperspectral imaging (HSI) holds the potential for noninvasive early detection of oral cancer. The quantification of tissue chromophores by spectral unmixing of hyperspectral images could provide insights for evaluating cancer progression. In this study, non-negative matrix factorization...

Blind compressive sensing (CS) is considered for reconstruction of hyperspectral data imaged by a coded aperture camera. The measurements are manifested as a superposition of the coded wavelengthdependent data, with the ambient three-dimensional hyperspectral datacube mapped to a two-dimensional measurement. The hyperspectral datacube is recovered using a Bayesian implementation of blind CS. Se...

Chroma-based audio features, which closely correlate to the aspect of harmony, are a well-established tool in processing and analyzing music data. There are many ways of computing and enhancing chroma features, which results in a large number of chroma variants with different properties. In this paper, we present a chroma toolbox [13], which contains MATLAB implementations for extracting variou...

We discuss the performances of a trigger implemented for the planned neutrino telescope NEMO. This trigger seems capable to discriminate between the signal and the strong background introduced by atmospheric muons and by the β decay of the 40 K nuclei present in the water. The performances of the trigger, as evaluated on simulated data are analyzed in detail.

Hyperspectral remote sensing based on unmanned airborne vehicles is a field increasing in importance. The combined functionality of simultaneous hyperspectral and geometric modeling is less developed. A configuration has been developed that enables the reconstruction of the hyperspectral three-dimensional (3D) environment. The hyperspectral camera is based on a linear variable filter and a high...

This Letter presents a new snapshot approach to hyperspectral imaging via dual-optical coding and compressive computational reconstruction. We demonstrate that two high-speed spatial light modulators, located conjugate to the image and spectral plane, respectively, can code the hyperspectral datacube into a single sensor image such that the high-resolution signal can be recovered in postprocess...

Hyperspectral imaging which combines imaging and spectroscopic technology is rapidly gaining ground as a non-destructive, real-time detection tool for food quality and safety assessment. Hyperspectral imaging could be used to simultaneously obtain large amounts of spatial and spectral information on the objects being studied. This paper provides a comprehensive review on the recent development ...

The need for fast hyperspectral data processing methods is discussed. Discussion includes the necessity of faster processing techniques in order to realize emerging markets for hyperspectral data. Several standard hyperspectral image processing methods are presented, including maximum likelihood classification, principal components analysis, and canonical analysis. Modifications of those method...

A correlative bright-field and hyperspectral analysis of full-thickness, cutaneous wounds in a porcine model was undertaken to investigate the efficacy of hyperspectral imaging as an alternate method for wound identification. Analysis of a randomly selected specimen yielded distinct spectral signatures for cutaneous regions of interest including the epidermis, injured dermis, and normal dermis....
