Several supply chain and production planning models in the literature assume the demands are fuzzy but most of them do not offer a specific technique to derive the fuzzy demands. In this study, we propose a methodology to obtain a fuzzy-demand forecast that is represented by a possibilistic distribution. The fuzzy-demand forecast is found by aggregating forecasts based on different sources; nam...
In this paper we deal with the problem of the relationship between the equipotency defined a s a consequence of a given definition of scalar cardinality of a fuzzy set and the existence of a bijection between fuzzy sets, which also depends on the definition of fuzzy function or fuzzy mapping between fuzzy sets. We investigate the main definitions and we introduce an intermediate one that is a n...

We introduce fuzzy closure systems and fuzzy closure operators as extensions of closure systems and closure operators. We study relationships between fuzzy closure systems and fuzzy closure spaces. In particular, two families F (S) and F (C) of fuzzy closure systems and fuzzy closure operators on X are complete lattice isomorphic.
After the introduction of fuzzy set by Zadeh in 1965 [1], there have been a number of generalizations of this fundamental concept. In 1967, Goguen [2] proposed the concept of L-fuzzy set. The idea of interval valued fuzzy set is given by Zadeh in 1975 [3]. Type 2 fuzzy sets were poposed by Zadeh in [4]. Attanasove introduced intuitionistic fuzzy sets in 1986 [5]. Interval valued intuitionistic ...
We define the concept of βℱL-admissible for a pair of L-fuzzy mappings and establish the existence of common L-fuzzy fixed point theorem. Our result generalizes some useful results in the literature. We provide an example to support our result.
Mathematical morphology (MM) offers a wide range of tools for image processing and computer vision. MM was originally conceived for the processing of binary images and later extended to gray-scale morphology. Extensions of classical binary morphology to gray-scale morphology include approaches based on fuzzy set theory that give rise to fuzzy mathematical morphology (FMM). From a mathematical p...
The present paper deals with formal concept analysis of data with fuzzy attributes. We clarify several points of a new approach of [S.Q. Fan, W.X. Zhang, Variable threshold concept lattice, Inf. Sci., accepted for publication] which is based on using thresholds in concept-forming operators. We show that the extentand intent-forming operators from [S.Q. Fan, W.X. Zhang, Inf. Sci., accepted for p...
In this work, we analyze how the linguistic labels of a linguistic variable can be a useful tool in the L-Fuzzy Concept Theory. In concrete, we study the L-Fuzzy concepts obtained from a departure set represented by means of these linguistic labels applied to the set of objects or attributes. We also illustrate the results by means of an example.
We introduce (fuzzy) Galois connections with hedges. Fuzzy Galois connections are basic structures behind so-called formal concept analysis of data with fuzzy attributes. Introducing hedges to Galois connections means introducing two parameters. The parameters influence the size of the set of all the fixpoints of a Galois connection. In the sense of formal concept analysis, the fixpoints, calle...
