in the current paper, finite element method is employed for numerical simulations and the study of influential parameters on elastic modulus of polymer-matrix nano-composites. effects of different key parameters including particle elastic modulus, interphase elastic modulus, matrix elastic modulus, interphase thickness and particle volume fraction on total elastic modulus of nano-composite mate...

curls and curves of a shell interweave its various strain modes and link them together. this interactional behavior has yet frustrated all attempts for the construction of shell templates, which needs for an individual element test in traditional approaches. such a test fails to work for shell elements and must be reconstructed. in this paper, it is tried to study shell interactional behavior a...

to achieve an excellent thermal-mechanical performance of cmcs, it is necessary to analyze and design the thickness of the multi-layered interphases for an optimized trs distribution. an optimization was performed with a new version of the particle swarm optimization, the bsg-starcraft radius pso linked to a finite element software.

Understanding the pattern of gluon radiation in tt̄ production processes is important for making an accurate determination of the top mass from the measurement of its decay products. In a recent paper we showed that the exact matrix element and parton shower (HERWIG) calculations gave very different results for the distribution of gluon jets in tt̄ production at the Tevatron pp̄ collider. By repea...

We show that there are two reasons why the partial width for the transition 1ð ð3SÞ ! þ b1ð1PÞÞ is suppressed. First, the spin-averaged matrix element Ið3Sjrj1PJÞ is small, being equal to 0:023 GeV 1 in our relativistic calculations. Secondly, the spin-orbit splittings produce relatively large contributions, giving Ið3Sjrj1P2Þ 1⁄4 0:066 GeV , while due to a large cancellation the matrix element...
