Well-nested word languages have been advertised as adequate formalizations of the notion of mild context-sensitivity. The main result of this paper is a characterization of well-nested tree languages in terms of simple attributed tree transducers.

We use existing measurements of D − → K * 0 ρ − and B → ψ + K * , coupled with flavor independence of QCD, and with vector meson dominance to show that long distance contributions to B → ρ + γ are potentially very serious. We note that long distance (LD) contributions can be appreciably different in B − → ρ − + γ and B 0 → ρ 0 (ω) + γ. All radiative decays of B, B S are shown to be governed ess...

The current status of the experimental measurements and theoretical predictions of the anomalous magnetic moment of the muon aμ is briefly reviewed. The emphasis is put on the evaluation of the hadronic contribution to aμ as it has the largest uncertainty among all Standard Model contributions. The precision of the hadronic contribution is driven by the input e+e− data predominantly from the π+...
In this paper we study the implications of the recent high precision measurement of (g−2)μ by BNL [1] on new heavy physics beyond the SM. The effect of two d=6 operators on the anomalous magnetic momment of the muon is considered and the new physics contribution to aμ reported by BNL has been used to put bounds on the scale associated with these operators.
We have performed a search for the angular-momentum forbidden decay K+→π+γ with the E787 detector at BNL. No events were observed in the π+ kinematic region around 227 MeV/c. An upper limit on the branching ratio for the decay is set to be 3.6× 10−7 at 90% confidence level. Typeset using REVTEX
The experimental measurement of K→πνν is reviewed. New results from experiment E787 at BNL are presented: with data from 1995–97 the branching ratio has been measured to be B(K→πνν ) = (1.5 −1.2) × 10 . The future prospects for additional data in this mode are examined.
