The paper deals with the inverse determination of heat source in an unsteady heat conduction problem. The governing equation for the unsteady Fourier heat conduction in 2D region with unknown internal heat source is known as the inverse boundary-initial-value problem. The identification of strength of the heat source is achieved by using the boundary condition, initial condition and a known val...

An analytical solution to the transient heat conduction for a two dimensional cylindrical fin with general boundary conditions is obtained by the principle of superposition and separation variables. In the analysis, homogeneous material properties and thickness, the convective heat transfer coefficient, the ambient temperature and the fin properties are assume to be constant. The closed form tr...

Some noteworthy and historical perspectives and overview of macroscale and microscale heat transport behavior in materials and structures are presented. The topic of heat waves is also discussed. The signiicance of constitutive models for both macroscale and microscale heat conduction are described in conjunction with generalizations drawn concerning the physical relevance and the role of relax...

The light-scattering spectrum for a Maxwell fluid in a steady state due to the presence of an external temperature gradient is computed. In such a fluid heat conduction is assumed to be governed by the classical Fourier law. The calculation is carried out through the use of fluctuating hydrodynamics. The effect of the non-Newtonian character of the fluid in the resulting spectrum is discussed.

run-out-table (rot) is located between last finishing stand and down coiler in a hot strip mill. as the hot steel strip passes from rot, water jets impact on it from top and bottom and strip temperature decreases approximately from 800-950 °c to 500-750°c. the temperature history that strip experience while passing through rot affects significantly the metallurgical and mechanical properties, s...

To realize the lagging behavior in heat conduction observed in these two decades, this paper firstly theoretically excludes the possibility that the underlying thermal inertia is a result of the time delay in heat diffusion. Instead, we verify in experiments the electro-thermal analogy, wherein the thermal inertial is parameterized by thermal inductance that formulates hyperbolic heat-conductio...

In this article, the local fractional Homotopy perturbation method is utilized to solve the non-homogeneous heat conduction equations. The operator is considered in the sense of the local fractional differential operator. Comparative results between non-homogeneous and homogeneous heat conduction equations are presented. The obtained result shows the non-differentiable behavior of heat conducti...

We introduce a family of models for heat conduction with and without momentum conservation. They are analytically solvable in the high temperature limit and can also be efficiently simulated. In all cases Fourier Law is verified in one dimension.

the falling and settling of solid particles in gases and liquids is a natural phenomenon happens in many industrial processes. this phenomenon has altered pure forced convection to a combination of heat conduction and heat convection in a flow over a plate. in this paper, the coupling of conduction (inside the plate) and forced convection of a non-homogeneous nanofluid flow (over a flat plate) ...

The law of Heat Conduction, also known as Fourier's law, states that the time rate of heat transfer through a material is proportional to the negative gradient in the temperature and to the area at right angles. However, not all systems follow Fourier law. It could be interesting to check whether a given system obey Fourier law, and explore under what condition will the heat conduction obey thi...
