Inverse heat conduction problems, which are one of the most important groups of problems, are often ill-posed and complicated problems, and their optimization process has lots of local extrema. This paper provides a novel computational procedure based on finite differences method and league championship algorithm to solve a one-dimensional inverse heat conduction problem. At the beginning, we u...
We introduce a central difference method and a quasi-reversibility method for solving a backward heat conduction problem (BHCP) numerically. For these two numerical methods, we give the stability analysis. Meanwhile, we investigate the roles of regularization parameters in these two methods. Numerical results show that our algorithm is effective. 2005 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
The Lie-Group Shooting Method for Quasi-Boundary Regularization of Backward Heat Conduction Problems
The Lie-Group Shooting Method for Quasi-Boundary Regularization of Backward Heat Conduction Problems Chih-Wen Chang1, Chein-Shan Liu2 and Jiang-Ren Chang1 Summary By using a quasi-boundary regularization we can formulate a two-point boundary value problem of the backward heat conduction equation. The ill-posed problem is analyzed by using the semi-discretization numerical schemes. Then, the res...
This paper demonstrates the deterministic errors in thermocouple measurements, or bias, through numerical simulation and illustrates the impact of these erroneous measurements on inverse heat conduction problem solutions. The case of molten metal solidifying through cooling in a sand mold is considered. Artificial data for the sand surface temperature and at two different locations below the sa...
In the applied mathematical modelling of heat transfer systems, coefficient (HTC) is one most important parameters. This paper proposes a combination Method Fundamental Solutions (MFS) with particle filter Sequential Importance Resampling (PF-SIR) to estimate time-dependent HTC in two-dimensional transient inverse conduction problems from non-standard boundary integral measurements. These measu...
In this paper, a boundary integral method is used to solve an inverse linear heat conduction problem in two-dimensional bounded domain. An inverse problem of measuring the heat flux from partial (on part of the boundary) dynamic boundary measurements is considered. An algorithm is given by using the fundamental solution.
