در این پژوهش شرایط استخراج روغن از هسته 15 گونه ی خرمای استان های متفاوت ایران در مقیاس آزمایشگاهی و نیم صنعتی مورد بررسی قرار گرفت. بازده استخراج روغن از هسته خرما در مقیاس آزمایشگاهی، 6/2 تا 13/2% با میانگین حدود 9/5% به دست آمده است. شرایط بهینه لازم در مقیاس آزمایشگاهی و نیم صنعتی با استفاده از حلال پترولیوم اتر، به دست آمد. بازده استخراج روغن در مقیاس نیم صنعتی 6/6% به دست آمد.
