Left ventricular pseudoaneurysm is usually associated with myocardial infarction and ventricular wall rupture, although it can also be associated with other pathological conditions. Rupture causes shock, and death if not repaired urgently. We report the very rare case of a man with coronary lesions that resulted in a silent myocardial infarction with rupture of the myocardial wall and the subse...
r p c u r c a m g ulmonary artery (PA) pseudoaneurysm is a rare ut life-threatening disorder. We describe an unsually large PA pseudoaneurysm in a young child hat posed diagnostic and therapeutic challenges. An 18-month-old male child, weighing 7 kg, ad presented with recurrent hemoptysis. Chest -ray showed complete opacification of the left emithorax (Fig. 1). A computerized tomography ngiogra...
A pseudoaneurysm refers to a defect in the arterial wall, allowing communication of arterial blood with the adjacent extra-luminal space. Pseudoaneurysms result from traumatic arterial injury. With the increasing utilization of percutaneous arterial interventions, iatrogenic arterial injury has become the predominant cause of pseudoaneurysm formation. Rupture of the pseudoaneurysm comprises a v...
left ventricular pseudoaneurysm is a rare complication of myocardial infarction. Since the risk of rupture is high , accurate diagnosis and if possible prompt surgical repair are of great importance. A 79 year old man was admitted because of dyspnea on e...
Introduction: An ovarian artery pseudoaneurysm is a rare disorder of pregnancy. Case Description: We present a case of an unruptured ovarian artery pseudoaneurysm during the first trimester, managed laparoscopically. The patient had undergone a previous right salpingo-oophorectomy and presented several weeks later with severe right adnexal pain. Doppler sonography and magnetic resonance arterio...
Left ventricular pseudoaneurysm is an uncommon complication after transmural acute myocardial infarction (AMI). Here we describe the case of a 43-year-old man who presented with AMI and chest distress despite the normal appearance of his coronary artery during coronary angiography. Timely thrombolytic therapy was administered. Echocardiography, and cardiac computed tomography showed a ventricul...
Post-catheterization pseudoaneurysm is most common vascular complications of cardiac and peripheral angiographic procedures. We report a 67-year-old female patient with giant (25 cmx25 cm) femoral artery pseudoaneurysm which gradually enlarged without rupture developed after catheterization in the periods of three years. She electively underwent to operation. Pseudoaneurysm pouch was evacuated ...
We report a case of a 71-year old woman with right inferior epigastric artery pseudoaneurysm following laceration by a computed tomography-guided 18G biopsy needle. The laceration was initially treated with placement of retained sutures; however the patient turned hemodynamically unstable 41 days later. Percutaneous ultrasound-guided injection of 1500 U of thrombin solution resulted in almost c...
DESCRIPTION A 25-year-old man presented to the emergency department with haematemesis, which was occasionally repeated during the last 3 months. The patient had been severely beaten 3 months ago. Gastroscopy was performed to identify the reason of haematemesis, but we did not find any pathological condition in the upper gastrointestinal tract. Abdominal ultrasonography revealed a lesion, which ...
Pulmonary artery pseudoaneurysm is a very rare complication of penetrating thoracic trauma. We present a case of a 27-year-old woman who developed a 6.5-cm traumatic pulmonary artery pseudoaneurysm after suffering multiple stab wounds to the chest and the abdomen. The pseudoaneurysm was successfully treated endovascularly with vascular plug occlusion and coil embolization.
