PURPOSE Most existing methods for accelerated parallel imaging in MRI require additional data, which are used to derive information about the sensitivity profile of each radiofrequency (RF) channel. In this work, a method is presented to avoid the acquisition of separate coil calibration data for accelerated Cartesian trajectories. METHODS Quadratic phase is imparted to the image to spread th...

A three-dimensional dual-cardiac-phase (3D-DCP) scan has been proposed to acquire two data sets of the whole heart and great vessels during the end-diastolic and end-systolic cardiac phases in a single free-breathing scan. This method has shown accurate assessment of cardiac anatomy and function but is limited by long acquisition times. This work proposes to accelerate the acquisition and recon...

Open flows over a cavity present, even at medium Reynolds number, sustained oscillations resulting from a complex feedback process [1]. Previous works have reveals a mode-switching phenomenon which remains to characterize from a dynamical point of view. In the configuration here investigated, the intermittency between the two dominant modes is characterized using a symbolic dynamics based appro...

Abstract: The dynamics of network traffic are complex and nonlinear, and chaotic behaviors and their prediction, which play an important role in local area networks (LANs), are studied in detail, using the largest Lyapunov exponent. With the introduction of phase space reconstruction based on the time sequence, the high-dimensional traffic is projected onto the low dimension reconstructed phase...

We establish a hierarchical ordering of periodic orbits in a strongly coupled multidimensional Hamiltonian system. Phase space structures can be reconstructed quantitatively from the knowledge of periodic orbits alone. We illustrate our findings for the hydrogen atom in crossed electric and magnetic fields.

The numerically reconstructed images in digital holography contain two undesirable features. After reconstruction, the zero order diffraction as well as the complex conjugate image will be present in pictures and drastically reduce their qualities. Practical applications of digital holography in the context of characterization and measuring the physical properties of objects require the suppres...

It has been recently shown that a simple description of the proton phase space distribution can provide a good qualitative understanding of deuteron spectra [1]. On the other hand, it appeared clear that a more solid method to extract the properties of the source had to be established. We have therefore reconstructed the phase space distribution of protons directly from the observed proton and ...
