Sampling plans, systems and schemes are used to accept/reject the lots when inspecting a series of lots. A sampling system is a grouping of two or more sampling plans with specified rules for switching between the plans for selecting the lots of finished products. Quick Switching System (QSS) is used to make accept or reject decisions when inspecting a series of lots. Quick Switching System req...

In this paper, we develop an adaptive multi controller system to solve the MRAC problem using unfalsified control theory. Switching is done among the candidate controllers based on some suitably defined performance index, which is obtained without actually inserting the candidate controllers in the feedback loop. Though prior knowledge about the nominal plant structure or its parameters is usef...

Stability of feature-based visual seruo controllers proposed so far is local.' The initial features far from the reference may converge to features diflemnt from the reference or even worse they may not converge. In this paper, stability of feature-based visual servo is considered by using potential. The stable region is visualized and artificial potential switching is proposed to extend the st...

This paper presents a digital control strategy to track a Gaussian reference switching profile at the output voltage of a Smart Power Switch by a feedforward gate current profile. The gate current profile is adapted from switching cycle to switching cycle by an Iterative Learning Control strategy to compensate for model inaccuracies, load variations and temperature dependencies. The presented s...

In this paper, we propose a bitstream switching scheme for progressive fine granularity scalable (PFGS) video coding that aims to improve the streaming performance of the scalable bitstreams. By switching among PFGS video bitstreams with different enhancement layer’s reference rates based on the same base layer, significant performance gain can be achieved, especially when the bandwidth fluctua...

A simple and novel design for a current comparator is proposed. The proposed current comparator utilizes the concept of adjustment of switching threshold voltage of an inverter employed in the circuit design to develop a reference current for the purpose of current comparison. The proposed circuit was simulated using 0.18 μm TSMC CMOS technology and satisfactory results were obtained.

Humans demonstrate preferences to use egocentric or allocentric reference frames in navigation tasks that lack embodied (vestibular and/or proprioceptive) cues. Here, we investigated how reference frame proclivities affect spatial navigation in horizontal versus vertical planes. Point-to-origin performance after visually displayed vertical trajectories was surprisingly accurate and almost match...

Class D audio amplifiers have gained significant influence in sound reproduction due to their high efficiency. One of the most commonly used control methods in class D amplifiers is known as self-oscillation. An parameter of key interest in self-oscillating class D amplifiers is the switching frequency, which can be directly related to the performance of the amplifier. This paper will clearify ...

In this paper, we discuss the model reference robust control (MRRC) for plants with relative degree greater than one and without the knowledge of high frequency gain sign. Based on an appropriate monitoring function, a switching scheme is proposed so that after a finite number of switching, the tracking error converges to a residual set that can be made arbitrarily small by properly choosing so...

The relationship between bone mineral density (BMD) and fracture risk is not well-established for non-white populations. There is no established BMD reference standard for South Asians. Dual energy x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) was used to measure BMD at total hip and lumbar spine in 150 US-based South Asian Indians. For each subject T-scores were calculated using BMD reference values based on US ...
