An IP* set in a semigroup is one which must intersect the set of finite products from any specified sequence. (If the semigroup is noncommutative, one must specify the order of the products, resulting in “left” and “right” IP* sets.) If A is a subset of N with positive upper density, then the difference set A−A = {x ∈ N : there exists y ∈ A with x+ y ∈ A} is an IP* set in (N,+). Defining analog...
Enlarged head circumference and increased brain weight have been reported in infants with pervasive developmental disorders (PDD), and volumetric studies suggest that children with PDD have abnormally enlarged brain volumes. However, little is known about brain volume abnormalities in young adults with PDD. We explored gray matter (GM) volume in young adults with PDD. T1-weighted volumetric ima...
Abstract We show that the bicategory of finite groupoids and right-free permutation bimodules is a quotient Mackey 2-motives introduced in [2], obtained by modding out so-called cohomological relations. This categorifies Yoshida’s theorem for ordinary functors provides direct connection between usual blocks representation theory.
for the first time nakayama introduced qf-ring. in 1967 carl. faith and elbert a. walker showed that r is qf-ring if and only if each injective right r-module is projective if and only if each injective left r-modules is projective. in 1987 s.k.jain and s.r.lopez-permouth proved that every ring homomorphic images of r has the property that each cyclic s-module is essentialy embeddable in dire...
An efficient parallel adder under left-to-right input arrival is proposed. Making full use of the delay of the input arrival, it produces the sum within a small constant delay after the arrival of the final bits. Its amount of hardware is proportional to the operand length. It can be applied to the quotient conversion in an array divider.
We propose linear systems of hedge language equations (LSH) as a formalism to represent regular hedge languages. These linear systems are suitable for several computations in the algebra of regular hedge languages. We indicate algorithms to translate between representations by hedge automata and LSH, and for the computation of LSH for the intersection, quotient, left and right factors of regula...
We describe the (co)homology of a certain family of normal subgroups of right-angled Artin groups that contain the commutator subgroup, as modules over the quotient group. We do so in terms of (skew) commutative algebra of squarefree monomial ideals.
Some generalizations of the usual operations of catenation and quotient of languages are introduced and studied. In particular, language equations involving these operations are considered. Infinite hierarchies of classes of prefix codes and classes of equivalence relations are defined and investigated in connection respectively with the classical notions of prefix codes and right syntactic con...
We study partially hyperbolic diffeomorphisms satisfying a trapping property which makes them look as if they were Anosov at large scale. We show that, as expected, they share several properties with Anosov diffeomorphisms. We construct an expansive quotient of the dynamics and study some dynamical consequences related to this quotient.
