Optic nerve hypoplasia with hypopituitarism and intact septum pellucidum is a variant of septo-optic dysplasia or deMorsier's syndrome.' Although neonatal jaundice has been seen with this syndrome, the association with severe prolonged cholestatic jaundice has not been emphasised. We describe three patients who presented with cholestatic jaundice and were found to have optic nerve hypoplasia an...
The thin, vertically placed partition consisting of two laminae separated by a narrow chink constitutes the cavity of the septum pellucidum, known from the time of Sylvius. Traumatic lesions in boxers, rare congenital expanding cysts causing hydrocephalus, and a number of septo-optic dysplasias give clinical significance to the septum and its related cavum.

The functional septo-temporal (dorso-ventral) differentiation of the hippocampus is accompanied by gradients of adult hippocampal neurogenesis (AHN) in laboratory rodents. An extensive septal AHN in laboratory mice suggests an emphasis on a relation of AHN to tasks that also depend on the septal hippocampus. Domestication experiments indicate that AHN dynamics along the longitudinal axis are su...

The CNS abnormalities include abnormalities of the hypothalamicpituitary axis, hypoplasia of the optic nerve. Often, absence of septum pellucidum is seen along ...
