Background and aims : The most important factors that influence human performance are accuracy, speed and ability to perform the skills by individuals. Given the importance of human productivity in improving the production and quality, This study examines the impact of noise on error rate, speed and ability to perform the manual skills.   Methods : This experimental study was conducted on 96 ...

This paper is a survey of the process and technology used in sound design for video games. The first part of the paper addresses the general state of the art in the design of video games: market and technology constraints, production process, game design and level design practices, game engines. The second part is devoted to the sound aspects of games: sound components, interactive composition,...

We are interested in computationally sound implementations for languages of distributed communicating processes, with secure high-level primitives for authentication and secrecy, but without explicit cryptography. We develop such an implementation for a variant of the pi calculus [6]. In this language, security properties can be studied using traces and equivalences that account for the presenc...

This paper is an introduction to the emotional qualities of sound and music, and we suggest that the visual and the aural modalities should be combined in the design of visualizations involving emotional expressions. We therefore propose that visualization design should incorporate sonic interaction design drawing on musicology, cognitive neuroscience of music, and psychology of music, and iden...

This paper deals with designing material parameters for physical models. It is shown that the characteristic relation between modal frequencies and damping factors of a sound object is the acoustic invariant of the material from which the body is made. Thus, such characteristic relation can be used for designing damping models for a conservative physical model to represent a particular material.

Background and aims: The power plants, including important industry of the country in which a large number of noise sources which workers are exposed with harmful levels occupational noise. The aim of this study was designing enclosures to noise control in the feed water pumps in a power plant. Methods: This cross-sectional study and their Interventional plants were done on the ground floor ...

Computer game sound design is in its infancy. It is still a practice almost reserved to a limited number of experts in the game industry who have typically made their own way through the field in the absence of a structured body of knowledge. The consequences are self-evident. To start with, there is no abundance of purposeful sound usage in computer games. More relevant to the study presented ...

This paper reviews the state of the art in the display and perception of walking generated sounds and tactile vibrations, and their current and potential future uses in interactive systems. As non-visual information sources that are closely linked to human activities in diverse environments, such signals are capable of communicating about the spaces we traverse and activities we encounter in fa...
