Amphoterus Bezzi, 1915 is a genus of rarely collected Afrotropical hover flies (Diptera, Syrphidae). We present the first description female A. braunsi van Doesburg, 1956, redescribe males 1956 and cribratus 1915, describe new species, londti sp. nov. also provide colour photographs two DNA barcodes for key to identify species.
