This work concerns the tracking of timing perturbations in discrete event dynamic systems (DEDS) modeled by timed Petri nets (TPN). Necessary conditions are presented for tracking perturbations in TPNs in which timings are only available for a set of monitor transitions.

A collection of software tools for analysis of timed Petri nets, known as TPN–tools, developed over a number of years, has been extended by a simulation tool, TPNsim. The paper gives a brief characterization of TPNsim, and discusses some implementation aspects in greater detail.

1 Semantics for timed Petri nets used in case study 5 model An (untimed) Petri net 6] is deened by the triple (P; T; F) with P a nite set of places, T a nite set of transitions, P \T = ;, and F (P T)(T P) a set of relations. The state of the untimed Petri net is the marking m : P ! Z + , assigning to each place p the number of tokens m(p) present in the place p: The set t := fp 2 P j (p; t) 2 F...

This paper proposes an original approach to the schedulability analysis of real-time systems specified by Time Petri Nets (TPNs). The focus is on sequence patterns of transition firings (execution tasks). A TPN model is first translated in the Timed Automata terms of the popular Uppaal tool. Then schedulability properties of tasks are verified through reachability analysis. The approach is effi...

Biochemical reaction systems are usually modeled by ordinary differential equations (ODEs). For further analysis, they are often transformed into stochastic Petri nets (SPN), whose state space (or reachability graph) then can be studied to deduce properties. If a biochemical reaction system is in a steady state, from now on called steady situation, 1 then the rates of the reactions and the conc...

The increasing development of highly concurrent and distributed systems captures scalability problems in terms of formal validation of models. In particular, reachability analysis tools commonly face a state explosion problem. Examples include the RTL tool developed by LAAS-CNRS for the formal description technique RT-LOTOS. By contrast, the TINA tool also developed by LAAS-CNRS for reachabilit...

Abstra t. The Asyn hronous Transfer Mode (ATM) is a fast pa ket{ swit hing ommuni ation method using small xed-length ells. A model of an ATM LAN is presented whi h provides a realisti representation of data transmission by modeling both the ATM network and the appliations running over it. Colored Petri nets are used to reate a ompa t model that is apable of representing a variety of di erent p...

In the post-genome era, biopathway information processing is one of the most important research topics in Bioinformatics. From a biochemical and biomedical viewpoint, research progress will be very beneficial to human beings, e.g. developments of medicine manufacture and effective medical treatment for each patient. Thus, this thesis discusses the importance of a biopathway development environm...

In this paper we are interested in situations of biochemical reaction systems(BioRSs) in which all species have constant concentrations and all reactions haveconstant rates. Such a situation is called steady state and usually achieved aftersome time has elapsed since the system’s beginning. We start with a model of a BioRS presented as a stochastic Petri net (SPN).This is...

Time Petri nets were introduced by Merlin in [5] in order to study recoverability problems in computer systems and the design of communication protocols. Berthomieu and Menasche in [2] res. Berthomieu and Diaz in [1] provide a method for the analysis of the qualitative behavior of the net. They divide the state spaces in state classes which are describe by a marking and time domain given by ine...
