A unit disk graph G on a given set P of points in the plane is geometric where an edge exists between two p,q∈P if and only |pq|≤1. spanning subgraph G′ k-hop spanner for every pq∈G, there path p,q with at most k edges. We obtain following results graphs plane. Every n-vertex has 5-hop 5.5n analyze family spanners constructed by Biniaz (2020) improve upper bound number edges from 9n to 5.5n. Us...

A 2-stab unit interval graph (2SUIG) is an axes-parallel unit square intersection graph where the unit squares intersect either of the two fixed lines parallel to the X-axis, distance 1 + (0 < < 1) apart. This family of graphs allow us to study local structures of unit square intersection graphs, that is, graphs with cubicity 2. The complexity of determining whether a tree has cubicity 2 is unk...

We consider the sum coloring (chromatic sum) and sum multi-coloring problems for restricted families of graphs. In particular, we consider the graph classes of proper intersection graphs of axis-parallel rectangles, proper interval graphs, and unit disk graphs. All the above mentioned graph classes belong to a more general graph class of (k+1)clawfree graphs (respectively, for k = 4, 2, 5). We ...

We characterize the complexity of a number of basic optimization problems for unit disk graphs speciied hierarchically as in BOW83, LW87a, Le88, LW92]. Both PSPACE-hardness results and polynomial time approximations are presented for most of the problems considered. These problems include minimum vertex coloring, maximum independent set, minimum clique cover, minimum dominating set and minimum ...

We characterize graphs that have intersection representations using unit intervals with open or closed ends such that all ends of the intervals are integral in terms of infinitely many minimal forbidden induced subgraphs. Furthermore, we provide a quadratic-time algorithm that decides if a given interval graph admits such an intersection representation.

The touching graph of balls is a graph that admits a representation by non-intersecting balls in the space (of prescribed dimension), so that its edges correspond to touching pairs of balls. By a classical result of Koebe [?], the disc touching graphs are exactly the planar graphs. This paper deals with a recognition of unit-ball touching graphs. The 2– dimensional case was proved to be NP-hard...

d-spheres are defined graph theoretically and inductively as the empty graph in dimension d = −1 and d-dimensional graphs for which all unit spheres S(x) are (d−1)-spheres and such that for d ≥ 0 the removal of one vertex renders the graph contractible. Eulerian d-spheres are geometric d-spheres which can be colored with d + 1 colors. They are Eulerian graphs in the classical sense and for d ≥ ...
