Background and Aim: This study aimed to analyze the factors affecting time and experience of relapse in the patients with Hodgkin's lymphoma, using cure fraction. Material and Methods: This retrospective study included all the patients diagnosed as Hodgkin's lymphoma in the Center for oncology and hematology in Shafa Hospital in Ahwaz City from 2002 to 2012. We used survival analysis and cure f...

In the case of manufactured products, there are situations where some components of a product are produced over a period of time by collecting items from different vendors, using different raw materials, machines, and manpower. The physical characteristics and the reliabilities of such components may be different, but sometimes it is difficult to distinguish them clearly. In such situations, mi...

The extreme value theory is widely used in economic and environmental domains, it aims to study the stochastic behaviors associated with rare events. In this context, we consider a new mixture model for extremal events analysis, including Dirichlet process of Weibull (DPMW) distribution below threshold point (PP) upper tail. This developed regression structure PP parameters, which explains vari...

In order to increase the efficiency of wheeled mobile manipulators (WMM), it is preferred to carry the maximum payload, but in the case of a small-sized platform, which is desirable in applications, it may cause dangerous tip over, especially in the presence of obstacles. So, it is necessary to consider stability constraint in the determination of robot motion planning. This paper presents a no...

A possible explanation is suggested for the controversial star-crushing effect seen in numerical simulations of inspiralling neutron star binaries by Wilson, Mathews and Marronetti (WMM). An apparently incorrect definition of momentum density in the momentum constraint equation used by WMM gives rise to a post-1-Newtonian error in the approximation scheme. We show by means of an analytic, post1...

We introduce the Weibull distributions in presence of cure fraction, censored data and covariates. Twomodels are explored in this paper: mixture and non-mixture models. Inferences for the proposed models are obtained under the Bayesian approach, using standard MCMC (Markov Chain Monte Carlo) methods. An illustration of the proposed methodology is given considering a lifetime data set.

In this paper we consider the Marshall-Olkin bivariate Weibull distribution. The Marshall-Olkin bivariate Weibull distribution is a singular distribution, whose both the marginals are univariate Weibull distributions. This is a generalization of the Marshall-Olkin bivariate exponential distribution. The cumulative joint distribution of the Marshall-Olkin bivariate Weibull distribution is a mixt...

The normal inverted gamma mixture or generalized Student t and the symmetric double Weibull, as well as their logarithmic counterparts, are proposed for modeling some loss distributions in non-life insurance and daily index return distributions in financial markets. For three specific data sets, the overall goodness-offit from these models, as measured simultaneously by the negative log-likelih...

The rotated-sigmoid form is a characteristic of old-growth, uneven-aged forest stands caused by past disturbances such as cutting, fire, disease, and insect attacks. The diameter frequency distribution of the rotated-sigmoid form is bimodal with the second rounded peak in the midsized classes, rather than a smooth, steeply descending, monotonic curve. In this study a finite mixture of two Weibu...
