Purpose – This main aim of this article is to explore the relationship between knowledge management (KM) and communities of practice (CoPs) in general and virtual CoPs in particular. A subsidiary aim is to provide some practical guidelines about how virtual CoPs can be facilitated and maintained. Design/methodology/approach – The relationship between KM and CoPs is explored using theoretical co...

In this version of the Cops and Robber game, the cops move in tandems, or pairs, such that they are at distance at most one from each other after every move. The problem is to determine, for a given graph G, the minimum number of tandems sufficient to guarantee a win for the cops. We investigate this game on three graph products, the Cartesian, categorical and strong products.

We theoretically analyze the Cops and Robber Game for the first time in a multidimensional grid. It is shown that for an ndimensional grid, at least n cops are necessary to ensure capture of the robber. We also present a set of cop strategies for which n cops are provably sufficient to catch the robber. Further, for two-dimensional grid, we provide an efficient cop strategy for which the robber...

Cops & Robber is a classical pursuit-evasion game on undirected graphs, where the task is to identify the minimum number of cops sufficient to catch the robber. In this paper, we investigate the changes in problem’s complexity and combinatorial properties with constraining the following natural game parameters • Fuel : The number of steps each cop can make; • Cost : The total sum of steps along...

Copepods represent a major source of food for many aquatic species of commercial interest for aquaculture such as mysis shrimp and early stages of fishes. For the purpose of this study, the culturable mesophilic bacterial flora colonizing Acartia tonsa copepod eggs was isolated and identified. A total of 175 isolates were characterized based on their morphological and biochemical traits. The ma...

Cops and Robbers is a pursuit and evasion game played on graphs that has received much attention. We consider an extension of Cops and Robbers, distance k Cops and Robbers, where the cops win if at least one of them is of distance at most k from the robber in G. The cop number of a graph G is the minimum number of cops needed to capture the robber in G. The distance k analogue of the cop number...

BACKGROUND Synthetic contiguous overlapping peptides (COPs) may represent an alternative to allergen extracts or recombinant allergens for allergen specific immunotherapy. In combination, COPs encompass the entire allergen sequence, providing all potential T cell epitopes, while preventing IgE conformational epitopes of the native allergen. METHODS Individual COPs were derived from the sequen...

In their daily practice, practitioners belong to local communities of practice (CoPs) within their organisation. This knowledge is rarely capitalised upon because discussions are mainly verbal. Practitioners can also belong to general CoPs online. Within these general CoPs, discussions are rarely linked to the context in which they appeared, since the members are from different companies or ins...
