We present design details and test results for the first short-term frequency standard to achieve ultra-high stability (oy < without he use of liquid helium. Technical features include vibration isolation by atmospheric helium gas and a new sapphire resonator design with adjustable compensation operating at 8-10K.

GaN layers with wurtzite structure were found to exhibit intense photoluminescence (PL) at 3.47eV (T = 10K) corresponding to recombination of excitons bound to neutral donors. The dependence of this luminescence on the growth conditions, layer thickness and density of excitation power was studied. New PL bands were evidenced in the UV region under high levels of excitation (Iexc 3 0.56mJ/cm ).

In order to obtain cell microarrays formed with human promyelocytic leukemia cells (HL-60), biotinylation of methacryloyl-functionalized HL-60 cells was performed via a thiol-ene reaction with thiol-terminated 4-arm poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG(4)10K-SH). Biotinylated HL-60 cells were selectively adhered onto an avidin-patterned surface with high viability.
