Imine-containing bridging groups were formed during self-assembly of periodic mesoporous organosilicas by in situ dynamic covalent chemistry of aldehyde and amine groups in the presence of poly(ethylene oxide)-poly(dl-lactic acid-co-glycolic acid)-poly(ethylene oxide) block copolymer in acidic aqueous solutions.

We describe a new class of charge inverted zwitterionic sulfated lipids (AS) with a cationic quaternary amine anchored at the membrane interface and an anionic sulfate moiety extended into the aqueous phase. These lipids have exceptionally high transition temperatures and assemble into lipid aggregates when dispersed in aqueous solutions.

One of the alternatives to reduce CO2 emissions from industrial sources (mainly oil and gas industry) is capture. Absorption with chemical solvents (alkanolamines in aqueous solutions) most widely used conventional technology for Despite competitive advantages solvents, technological challenge improving absorption process apply alternative reducing energy demand increasing captured per unit sol...

The reduction of [Pt(COD)(CH3)2] with CO in the presence of hexadecylamine (HDA) and oleic acid (OlAc) leads to amine carbonylation and formation of an air-stable colloidal solution of N,N'-bis(hexadecyl)urea-stabilized Pt(0) nanoparticles. These air-stable colloidal solutions can be used to form thin films of Pt nanoparticles on a silicon substrate.

Graph Machine Based-QSAR Approach for Modeling Thermodynamic Properties of Amines: Application to CO2 Capture in Postcombustion — Amine scrubbing is usually considered as the most efficient technology for CO2 mitigation through postcombustion Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS). However, optimization of the amine structure to improve the solvent properties requires to sample a large number of poss...

Post-combustion carbon capture is a key component of the fight against global warming and climate change. Amine stripping is currently the leading post-combustion technology, and indeed is employed at the World’s first and only commercial scale carbon capture project applied to a power plant, at Boundary Dam, Canada. Normally, regeneration of the spent amine solution is achieved by stripping wi...

The mesoporous carbon (CMK-3) functionalized with ethylenediamine (EDA) has been synthesized (CMK-3-EDA) and applied as a new mesoporous adsorbent for removal of Cu(II) and Pb(II) cations from aqueous solutions. Nitrogen adsorption–desorption measurements (BET) show that surface area, pore size and pore volume of CMK-3 were significantly changed after amine modification. The BET surface area an...

We report a robust and practical method for the preparation of water-soluble luminescent quantum dots (QDs) selectively coupled through an amine or thiol linkage to peptide ligands targeted to G-protein coupling receptors (GPCRs) and demonstrate their utility in whole-cell and single-molecule imaging. We utilized a low molecular weight ( approximately 1200 Da) diblock copolymer with acrylic aci...

Proteins are prone to inactivation in aqueous solutions because chemical modification and aggregation usually occur, particularly at high temperature. This review focuses on the recent advance in practical application with amine compounds that prevent the heat-induced inactivation and aggregation of proteins. Coexistence of amine solutes, typically diamines, polyamines, amino acid esters, and a...

in order to increase the rate of gas absorption, chemical reaction in the liquid phase is considered. the purpose of this paper was to simulate gas absorption process by a liquid film over a spherical packing incorporating eddy viscosity and diffusivity. second order chemical reaction for two different cases (fast and slow) were considered. the system partial differential equations obtained was...
