By rationally employing enzymes for signal amplification, an ultrasensitive aptasensor was developed and successfully tested in a system designed to detect lysozyme with a detection limit of 0.1 fM. This detection limit is nearly three orders of magnitude lower than those of any previously reported DNAzyme-based aptasensors.

A simple modular aptamer-based sensor (aptasensor) platform was prepared by combining the merits of the rapid and efficient preparation of a self-assembled monolayer of cucurbit[7]uril (CB[7] SAM) and the strong and specific binding affinity of CB[7] to ferrocenemethylammonium (FA), as an ultrastable supramolecular linker, to immobilize aptamers on CB[7] SAM.

We developed a facile one-step approach to synthesize DNA-templated Ag/Pt bimetallic nanoclusters (DNA-Ag/Pt NCs), which possess highly-efficient peroxidase-like catalytic activity. With this finding, an aptamer based sandwich-type strategy is employed to design a label-free colorimetric aptasensor for the protein detection with high sensitivity and selectivity.

A novel surface-enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) assay is demonstrated by developing a cross strand-displacement amplification (CSDA) method to enhance the SERS signals. Highly sensitive and selective detection of any single-stranded DNA is achieved and an aptasensor for proteins is constructed.

We present a nanoplasmonic aptasensor for adenosine triphosphate (ATP) by using single gold nanoparticles (GNPs) as probes.
