It is well known that only a special class of bandpass signals, called real-zero (RZ) signals can be uniquely represented (up to a scale factor) by their zero crossings, i.e., the time instants at which the signals change their sign. However, it is possible to invertibly map arbitrary bandpass signals into RZ signals, thereby, implicitly represent the bandpass signal using the mapped RZ signal'...

This article describes a new model that predicts the subjective lateral position of bandpass stimuli. It is assumed, as in other models, that stimuli are bandpass filtered and rectified, and that the rectified outputs of filters with matching center frequencies undergo interaural cross correlation. The model specifies and utilizes the shape and location of assumed patterns of neural activity th...

A number of modern measurement instruments employed in different application fields consist of an analogue front-end, a data acquisition section, and a processing section. A key role is played by the data acquisition section, which is mandated to the digitization of the input signal, according to a specific sample rate (Corcoran, 1999). The choice of the sample rate is connected to the optimal ...

A novel type of dual-mode microstrip bandpass filter using degenerate modes of a meander loop resonator has been developed for miniaturization of high selectivity narrowband microwave bandpass filters. A filter of this type having a 2.5% bandwidth at 1.58 GHz was designed and fabricated. The measured filter performance is presented.

A miniaturized square resonator bandpass filter with circular stubs was designed, fabricated, and characterized. Analytical calculations were carried out to determine the critical filter parameters and the design was optimized using a 3D electromagnetic finite-element solver. The measured results were in good agreement with the designed results. The proposed filter exhibits significant improvem...

We compared the performance of bandpass filtering methods, the commonly used mathematical morphology operator (MMO) method and the convolution-wavelet method (CNW) on both simulationed and real sEMG data. The CNW showed better performance as compared to bandpass filtering and the MMO particularly for low signal-to-artifact ratios

This paper introduces the concept of frequency-translating, bandpass delta-sigma modulator in continuous-time. The system level design and simulation results of the deltasigma modulator are presented. The DAC jitter performance of the continuous-time, frequency translating bandpass delta-sigma modulator is presented. The DAC jitter performance of the frequency translating modulator and conventi...

A novel fourth-order voltage-mode switched-capacitor bandpass ∆Σ modulator, using direct-charge-transfer pseudo-N-path resonators, is described. This modulator is insensitive to component mismatches and finite opamp bandwidth, and is also less sensitive to finite opamp gain than previous bandpass ∆Σ data converters. It is therefore suitable for high-speed communications applications.

This document describes filter design from the standpoint of cost. Filter design techniques that require the fewest possible op amps and passive components are described. Six types of filters are described—low pass, high pass, narrow bandpass, wide bandpass, notch, and band reject. Table Of

This paper presents a novel on-chip passive bandpass filter for millimeter-wave (MMW) applications that utilizes a pair of electrically-coupled thru-silicon vias (TSV). The presented TSV bandpass filter can be used in MMW applications such as radar, medical imaging, and communication. The TSV bandpass filter uses two TSVs to extend two electrically-coupled conductors into the silicon substrate ...
