We provide a simple representation of Strr omberg's wavelets which was studied in Strr omberg'83]. This representation enables us to compute those wavelets eeciently. We point out the multiresolution approximation associated with this wavelet and the connection with Chui-Wang's cardinal spline wavelet. A generalization of Strr omberg's wavelet is also given.

Quadratice Bézier curves are important geometric entities in many applications. However, it was often ignored by the literature the fact that a single segment of a quadratic Bézier curve may fail to fit arbitrary endpoint unit tangent vectors. The purpose of this paper is to provide a solution to this problem, i.e., constructing G quadratic Bézier curves satisfying given endpoint (positions and...

For orthogonal cardinal spline approximation, closed form expressions of the reproducing kernel and the Peano kernels in terms of exponential splines are proved. Concrete and sharp pointwise error bounds are deduced for low degree splines.

The algorithms and programs in this handy book deal almost exclusively with cubic splines. A short introduction stresses the maximum "smoothness" of "natural" splines. The next chapter reviews the numerical solution of tridiagonal linear systems by Gauss elimination and of block tridiagonal linear systems by relaxation. Chapter 3 offers programs for cubic spline interpolation with various (sepa...

We construct the graphs of Hoffman-Singleton, Higman-Sims and McLaughlin from certain relations on the set of non-singular conics totally tangent to the Hermitian curve of degree 6 in characteristic 5. We then interpret this geometric construction in terms of the subgroup structure of the automorphism group of this Hermitian curve.

Generalized cardinal Hermite spline interpolation is considered. A special case of this problem is the classical cardinal Hermite spline interpolation with shifted nodes. By means of a corresponding symbol new representations of the cardinal Hermite fundamental splines can be given. Furthermore, a new efficient algorithm for the computation of the cardinal Hermite spline interpolant is obtained...

Systematic design methods for multifilters and multiwavelets are presented. Explicit formulae are given for aliasing cimcellation in biorthogonal multifilter banks. The relationship with vector transforms over the real or finite fields is described.

This paper proposes to study a spline model, called HBsplines, that is in fact a B-spline representation of Hermite splines, combined with some restriction on the derivative constraints. Although this model does not appear able to offer something new to the computer graphics community, we think that HB-splines deserve to be considered for themselves because they embed many interesting features....
