The title compound, [Cu(2){SC(NH(2))NHNH(2)}(6)]I(2), was obtained by the reaction of CuI and thio-semicarbazide (TSCZ) in acetonitrile. Each Cu(I) ion is coordinated by four S atoms of the TSCZ ligands, forming a tetra-hedral geometry. Centrosymmetric dimers are formed by two coordination tetra-hedra sharing a common edge, with a Cu⋯Cu distance of 2.8236 (14) Å. The I(-) ion does not have any ...
Soluble copper phthalocyanine (CuPc) and naphthalocyanine (CuNc) precursors which can be converted thermally and photochemically into insoluble CuPc and CuNc, respectively, have been synthesized by a one-step reaction using commercially available chemicals.
The development of enantioselective, copper-catalyzed alkynylations of cyclic iminium and oxocarbenium ions is reviewed. The use of chiral copper-based catalysts has enabled high yields and enantioselectivites in the formation of nitrogen- and oxygen-containing heterocycles with α-stereogenic centers. This review highlights both the accomplishments and the future work needed in this important a...
A β-diketiminato magnesium alkyl complex is shown to be an effective pre-catalyst for the first reported catalytic hydroboration of organic isonitriles, RNC, with HBpin. The reaction proceeds under mild conditions when R = alkyl and provides access to the corresponding 1,2-diborylated amine products.
The copper phosphinimide complexes [Cu{μ-N[double bond, length as m-dash]PR3}]4 (1, R = NMe2 and 2, R = Ph) were obtained in good yields from the reactions of Cu[Mes] (Mes = mesityl, C6H2Me3-2,4,6) with the corresponding iminophosphoranes, HNPR3. The molecular structures of 1 and 2 reveal the presence of planar eight-membered {Cu4N4} rings which contrasts with the saddle-shaped {M4N4} rings fou...
The original version of this Article contained an error in the title of the paper, where “Persistent activation of microglia and NADPH oxidase drive hippocampal dysfunction in experimental multiple sclerosis” was incorrectly given as “Persistent activation of microglia and NADPH drive hippocampal dysfunction in experimental multiple sclerosis”. This has now been corrected in the PDF and HTML ve...
Copper-bis(oxazoline) complexes have been immobilised in the hydrophobic domain of a polymersome membrane to perform asymmetric cyclopropanation reactions in aqueous media with enhanced conversions and enantioselectivities.
We report the sonochemical synthesis of copper(I) hydride (CuH) by the ultrasonic irradiation of a copper(II) aqueous solution. A reaction mechanism based on the reduction of copper(II) by the ultrasound-generated hydrogen atoms is discussed. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time that a metal hydride has been synthesized through sonochemistry.
The coordinatively unsaturated copper (II) complexes of 1,3-bis(2'-pyridyl)-1,2-diaza-2- butene with different ancillary anions were synthesized which can bind to copper centers of tyrosinase enzyme. The compounds were found to exhibit inhibitory activities against mushroom tyrosinase and the nature and extent of inhibition is modulated according to the type of ancillary anions.
