core-shell 12-tungstophosphoric acid/tio2 (hpw/tio2) nanoparticles at 10 and 20% of hpw have been synthesized by simple in-situ sol- gel method. characterization of the samples was carried out by x-ray diffraction (xrd), scanning electron microscopy (sem), fourier transform infrared (ftir). the x-ray diffraction patterns of as prepared solid samples, indicated characteristic peaks of titania wi...
We present a new fabrication method to produce arrays of highly responsive polymer-metal core-shell magnetic microactuators. The core-shell fabrication method decouples the elastic and magnetic structural components such that the actuator response can be optimized by adjusting the core-shell geometry. Our microstructures are 10 μm long, 550 nm in diameter, and electrochemically fabricated in pa...
We attempt to meet the general design requirements for high-performance supercapacitor electrodes by combining the strategies of lightweight substrate, porous nanostructure design, and conductivity modification. We fabricate a new type of 3D porous and thin graphite foams (GF) and use as the light and conductive substrates for the growth of metal oxide core/shell nanowire arrays to form integra...
A new type of doped Cd:In2S3 NC, which exhibits bright white-light emission with a QY of about 18%, synthesized by a one-pot G-doping synthesis approach is presented. The successful realization of temporal separation of nucleation doping and growth doping makes this approach a facile method to synthesize the In2S3/Cd:In2S3 core/shell nanostructure.
The purpose of this study was to design a new nanosystem for catheter surface functionalization with an improved resistance to Staphylococcus aureus ATCC 25923 and Pseudomonas aeruginosa ATCC 27853 colonization and subsequent biofilm development. New 2-((4 ethylphenoxy)methyl)-N-(substituted-phenylcarbamothioyl)-benzamides were synthesized and used for coating a core/shell nanostructure. Their ...
Au/Pd octopods with hollow, cubic interiors and Oh symmetry were synthesized for the first time by etching core@shell Pd@Au/Pd octopods to selectively remove their Pd interiors. Integration of multiple architectural features - in this case branching symmetry, composition, and interior design - into one nanostructure provides design strategies to new plasmonic colloids.
Development of simple and reliable protocols for the synthesis of phase-pure core–shell metal nanoparticles is an important problem in nanomaterials synthesis; the synthesis of Co-core Au-shell nanoparticles is described in this paper. The formation of these core–shell nanoparticles is driven by a displacement reaction on the surface of cobalt nanoparticles, where the surface of the cobalt nano...
