INTRODUCTION AND OBJECTIVES Retrograde aortocoronary dissection is an unusual complication of coronary angioplasty. Our study provides new structural details of the aortic sinuses and the proximal portions of the coronary arteries, which enable better understanding of several clinical features associated with this complication. Spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) and woven coronary artery anomaly (WCAA) are relatively rare. A few of the previously reported woven coronary artery cases have involved in a single coronary artery. We present an unusual woven case involving all coronary arteries and two patient with SCAD. We have also reviewed the literature related to these disease, as they resemble one another.

Spontaneous dissection of the coronary arteries is an uncommon condition that may lead to sudden, fatal coronary artery occlusion. Three cases of sudden death attributable to coronary artery occlusion are presented. Dissection was associated with Marfan's syndrome in the first case, and occurred three weeks postpartum in the second case. In case 1, dissection occurred within the intima, and was...

We present a case of a 66-year-old lady with chest pain, without dynamic 12-lead electrocardiographic (ECG) changes and normal serial troponin. Coronary angiography revealed a linear filing defect in the first obtuse marginal branch of the circumflex artery indicating coronary artery dissection, with superadded thrombus. She was managed medically with dual antiplatelet therapy and has responded...

Spontaneous coronary artery dissection is an extremely rare cause of acute coronary syndrome. Although it predominantly affects young women in the peripartum period, it can also occur in men. The left coronary artery is most frequently involved. The usual presentation is ST segment elevation myocardial infarction. Although several treatment modalities have been proposed, the optimal treatment o...

Spontaneous coronary artery dissection is a rare condition, usually presenting as an acute coronary syndrome, and is often seen in states associated with high systemic estrogen levels such as pregnancy or oral contraceptive use. While topical hormonal replacement therapy may result in increased estrogen levels similar to those documented with oral contraceptive use, there are no reported cases ...

Spontaneous coronary artery dissection is a rare cause of myocardial infarction predominantly associated with young women during the third trimester of pregnancy or during the postpartum period. Multivessel spontaneous coronary artery dissection is an even less frequent condition with limited reports in medical literature. Hormonal changes as well as hemodymanic stress are some of the factors t...

Spontaneous coronary artery dissection is a rare cause of an acute coronary syndrome. This report describes a previously healthy woman without cardiovascular risk factors who presented with an acute anterior non-ST elevation myocardial infarction. Coronary angiography revealed an isolated longitudinal dissection in the middle part of the left anterior descending coronary artery (LAD) with norma...

Spontaneous coronary artery dissection (SCAD) is a rare cause of acute coronary syndrome occurring predominantly in young women without any cardiovascular risk factors, especially during the peripartum and early postpartum period. Here, we report a case of a 28-year-old pregnant woman who was found to have an isolated distal SCAD of the left anterior descending artery (LAD). Coronary angiograph...
