Wavelet transform, due to its time frequency characteristics, has been a popular multiresolution analysis tool. Its discrete version, i.e. DWT has been widely used in various applications till date. The hugely applied version of DWT is convolution based. But for hardware implementation this convolution based system has had problems with floating point numbers. Thus the lifting based DWT method,...

Convolution type Calderón-Zygmund singular integral operators with rough kernels p.v. Ω(x)/|x| are studied. A condition on Ω implying that the corresponding singular integrals and maximal singular integrals map L → L for 1 < p < ∞ is obtained. This condition is shown to be different from the condition Ω ∈ H1(Sn−1).

In this paper, we investigate periodic solutions of linear and nonlinear discrete Volterra equations of convolution or non-convolution type with unbounded memory. For linear discrete Volterra equations of convolution type, we establish Fredholm’s alternative theorem and for equations of non-convolution type, and we prove that a unique periodic solution exists for a particular bounded initial fu...

In this work, a general definition of Convolution between two arbitrary Tempered Ultradistributions is given. When one of the Tempered Ultradistributions is rapidly decreasing this definition coincides with the definition of J. Sebastiao e Silva. The product of two arbitrary distributions of exponential type is defined via the Convolution of its corresponding Fourier Transforms. Several example...

We characterize asymptotic collective behavior of rectangular random matrices, the sizes of which tend to infinity at different rates. It appears that one can compute the limits of all non commutative moments (thus all spectral properties) of the random matrices we consider because, when embedded in a space of larger square matrices, independent rectangular random matrices are asymptotically fr...

We consider the L mapping properties of a model class of strongly singular integral operators on the Heisenberg group H; these are convolution operators on H whose kernels are too singular at the origin to be of Calderón-Zygmund type. This strong singularity is compensated for by introducing a suitably large oscillation. Our results are obtained by utilizing the group Fourier transform and unif...

This paper explores the relation between discrete convolution/correlation and string matching for different specific classes of input signals. We examine the time complexity of computation for both convolution/correlation and string matching, and explore the possibility of a deterministic algorithm for discrete convolution/correlation.
