Partitioning Hilbert space into two subspaces by using orthogonal projection operators yields compact forms for effective Hamiltonians for each of the subspaces. When one (the Q space) contains molecular bound states and the other (the P space) contains dissociative continua, a simple form for the non-Hermitian Q-space effective Hamiltonian, H(eff), can be obtained, subject to reasonable approx...
The superiority of the convergence behavior of effective rotational Hamiltonians expressed in terms of Pade approximants over more conventional power series Hamiltonians is well known. For diatomics it is suggested that the failure of the conventional expansions is due to singularities in the complex Jplane. This theory is supported by numerical calculations on rotationally excited Ha with both...
Hamiltonian chains of oscillators in general probably do not sustain exact travelling discrete breathers. However solutions which look like moving discrete breathers for some time are not difficult to observe in numerics. In this paper we propose an abstract framework for the description of approximate travelling discrete breathers in Hamiltonian chains of oscillators. The method is based on th...
Using simple and general arguments we propose an effective Hamiltonian for the description of low-energy pure QCD. The Hamiltonian is a function of spatially constant collective modes. Its eigenstates can be organized into bands classified by the irreducible representations of an O(8) group. The latter also determine parity and charge conjugation of the states. The energy spectrum agrees well w...
a graph that contains a hamiltonian cycle is called a hamiltonian graph. in this paper wecompute the first and the second geometric – arithmetic indices of hamiltonian graphs. thenwe apply our results to obtain some bounds for fullerene.
We study the problem of a quantum particle in an infinite one dimensional potential well with a moving wall. Based on the effective Hamiltonian approach and using the gauge transformation concepts, we show that the effect of the moving wall appears as an extra phase factor in the wave function which depends on the velocity of the wall.
