The effect of curvature on the surface tension of droplets and bubbles in both single and multicomponent systems is modeled using the basic equations from classical thermodynamics. The three expressions used in our work are the Gibbs adsorption equation for multicomponent systems, the relation between the surface tension at the surface of tension and the distance parameter , and the Macleod–Sug...
An individual is typically considered an adult at age 18, although the age of adulthood varies for different legal and social policies. A key question is how cognitive capacities relevant to these policies change with development. The current study used an emotional go/no-go paradigm and functional neuroimaging to assess cognitive control under sustained states of negative and positive arousal ...
Childhood emotional maltreatment (CEM) has adverse effects on medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC) morphology, a structure that is crucial for cognitive functioning and (emotional) memory and which modulates the limbic system. In addition, CEM has been linked to amygdala hyperactivity during emotional face processing. However, no study has yet investigated the functional neural correlates of neutral...
Introduction: The proportion of older adults in the population continues to grow in the developing countries. In addition, persons at or over the age of 60 years have decreased quality of life in geriartrics because of several factors, such as low physical activity and impairment in mobility. This study was performed to assess the effect of group-based exercise program on physical functional in...
Childhood is a very important age period and often has been overlooked. As unawareness that many behavioral traits affect experiences of the early years of our lives so the environment in action and learning during the operation, play a crucial role. When it comes to in public areas and keeping with their peers, children could learn many life circumstances, known as social behaviors. This stu...
The question of subjecthood has dogged linguistic science since ancient times. However, in current versions of Minimalism, subjects do not have primitive status and can only be defined in derived terms. However, subjects and the broader theoretical notion of SUBJECT remain important in linguistic description. This paper develops a definition of SUBJECTHOOD in terms of set-theoretic notions of F...
Functional connectivity (FC) analyses of correlations of neural activity are used extensively in neuroimaging and electrophysiology to gain insights into neural interactions. However, analyses assessing changes in correlation fail to distinguish effects produced by sources as different as changes in neural signal amplitudes or noise levels. This ambiguity substantially diminishes the value of F...
Computer tools for education, particularly those that allow a learner to work through many examples of a problematic type of exercise, can be helpful to that learner’s understanding. Functional dependencies and their use in finding candidate keys are an area with which learners often have difficulty in undergraduate database courses. In addition to helping the students, a learning tool could he...
A fuzzification of the concept of functional dependency based on t-norms is presented. T-norms are equally used in the definition of the similarity relations in the domains and in the fuzziness degree assigned to functional dependencies. A sound and complete logic for this fuzzy functional dependencies is also introduced and, finally, its applicability to redundancy removing is shown.
