• Gentamicin initially decreased microbial activity comparative to penicillin higher. Recovery was comparatively high in oxytetracycline treated soils. Organic amendments improved the resilience indices. Unexpectedly qCO2 antibiotic The static effects of applied antibiotics were higher than their cidal effects. This study aimed describe and adverse on soil resulting from manure application. So,...

Abstract: Introduction: Parenteral administration of gentamicin is a globally known therapeutic strategy for severe infections, including community acquired pneumonia, complex acute malnourishment, neonatal and pediatric sepsis. The drug also prescribed as an ophthalmologic anti-infective. In most cases, the course necessitates frequent bolus medication doses, lengthy hospitalization, ongoing m...

We describe a gentamicin assay in which a peroxidase-gentamicin conjugate competes with gentamicin for binding to a gentamicin antibody adsorbed to a polystyrene solid phase. The assay can be completed in 30 min and requires 50 microliter of diluted serum. The precision and accuracy are equivalent to that of a radioimmunoassay technique and the reagents are stable for several months.

The pharmacokinetics and therapeutic efficacy of gentamicin were investigated in an experimental pleural empyema rabbit model. Pleural effusion was induced by the intrapleural administration of turpentine, and empyema was induced by direct inoculation of the effusion with Klebsiella pneumoniae. Pleural empyema compared with effusion was characterized by lower pH, oxygen tension (PaO2), and gluc...

The authors investigated the effect of liposome encapsulation on the pharmacokinetics of gentamicin after intravitreal injection in albino rabbits, using immunofluorescent assay. Gentamicin was encapsulated into liposomes of phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidic acid, and alpha-tocopherol. The final liposomal suspension contained gentamicin, 10 mg/ml, 95% encapsulated. One eye of each rabbit receiv...

OBJECTIVE To evaluate the pharmacokinetics and cost of once-daily dosing with gentamicin in women with postpartum endometritis. METHODS Gentamicin in a single daily dose of 4.5 mg/kg was administered intravenously to 10 women with postpartum endometritis. Peak and trough gentamicin levels were measured, and nephrotoxicity and clinical ototoxicity were monitored. Pharmacokinetic data were anal...

Vancomycin and gentamicin act synergistically against penicillin-resistant pneumococci in vitro and in experimental rabbit meningitis. The aim of the present study was to investigate the underlying mechanism of this synergism. The intracellular concentration of gentamicin was measured by using the following experimental setting. Bacterial cultures were incubated with either gentamicin alone or ...

background: gentamicin (gm) is used as antibiotic for gram-negative infections, but its administration is limited due to a side-effect of nephrotoxicity. it was attempted to investigate the effect of althaea officinalis flower extract (aofe) against nephrotoxicity induced by gm in male rats. methods: 30-year-old male wistar rats were divided into five groups. group 1 as a negative control group...

OBJECTIVES One of the antidiabetic drugs, metformin, have shown that it prevented oxidative stress-induced death in several cell types through a mechanism involving the opening of the permeability transition pore and cytochrome c release. Thus, it is possible that the antioxidative effect of metformin can also serve as protection against gentamicin-induced cytotoxicity related to reactive oxyge...
