I describe a unique, 20-year-long timing program for the binary pulsar B0655+64, the stalwart control experiment for measurements of gravitational radiation damping in relativistic neutron-star binaries. Observed limits on evolution of the B0655+64 orbit provide new bounds on the existence of dipolar gravitational radiation, and hence on violation of the Strong Equivalence Principle.

We prove that the flux of gravitational radiation from an isolated source in the Nonsymmetric Gravitational Theory is identical to that found in Einstein’s General Theory of Relativity.

The excitation of neutron stars is expected to be an important source of gravitational radiation. Of fundamental importance is then to investigate mechanisms that trigger oscillations in neutron stars in order to characterize the emitted radiation. We present results from a numerical study of the even-parity gravitational radiation generated from a particle orbiting a neutron star. We focus our...

Stellar mass compact objects in short period (P . 10 s) orbits about a 10–10M⊙ massive black hole (MBH) are thought to be a significant continuous-wave source of gravitational radiation for the ESA/NASA Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA) gravitational wave detector. These extreme mass-ratio inspiral sources began in long-period, nearly parabolic orbits that have multiple close encounters...

In TeV-gravity models the gravitational coupling to particles with energies E ∼ mPl ∼ 10 TeV is not suppressed by powers of ultra-small ratio E/MPl with MPl ∼ 10 GeV . Therefore one could imagine strong synchrotron radiation of gravitons by the accelerating particles to become the most pronounced manifestation of TeV-gravity at LHC. However, this turns out to be not true: considerable damping c...

We present numerical three-body experiments that include the effects of gravitational radiation reaction by using equations of motion that include the 2.5-order post-Newtonian force terms, which are the leading-order terms of energy loss from gravitational waves. We simulate binary-single interactions and show that close-approach cross sections for three 1 M objects are unchanged from the purel...
