The Generic Routing Encapsulation (GRE) specification contains a Key field, which MAY contain a value that is used to identify a particular GRE data stream. This specification defines a new Mobile IP extension that is used to exchange the value to be used in the GRE Key field. This extension further allows the Mobility Agents to set up the necessary protocol interfaces prior to receiving the mo...

Glycopeptide-resistant enterococci (GRE) have become a focus of concern in many countries because options for antimicrobial therapy of GRE infection are limited. Several guidelines for the control and prevention of GRE colonization and infection have been developed for healthcare settings, and occasional journal articles now report "control" (usually relative reduction of incidence or prevalenc...

Historically, admissions committees for biomedical Ph.D. programs have heavily weighed GRE scores when considering applications for admission. The predictive validity of GRE scores on graduate student success is unclear, and there have been no recent investigations specifically on the relationship between general GRE scores and graduate student success in biomedical research. Data from Vanderbi...

PURPOSE The increasing demand for the clinical application of functional MR imaging raises the question of whether this technique can be routinely performed on 1.0-T MR scanners. To this end, we assessed the feasibility of functional MR imaging at 1.0 T. METHODS Healthy volunteers were scanned during the performance of a motor task. Functional data were acquired with echo-planar imaging (EPI)...

OBJECTIVE Type 1 diabetes results from autoimmune destruction of beta-cells in the pancreas. Our objective is to reconstitute a glucose-responsive system in the liver to regulate hepatic insulin production for improving glycemic control in type 1 diabetes. METHODS We have cloned the glucose-responsive element (GRE) from the promoter of acetyl-CoA carboxylase (ACC), an enzyme that catalyzes th...

Large-scale distributed graph-parallel computing is challenging. On one hand, due to the irregular computation pattern and lack of locality, it is hard to express parallelism efficiently. On the other hand, due to the scale-free nature, realworld graphs are hard to partition in balance with low cut. To address these challenges, several graph-parallel frameworks including Pregel and GraphLab (Po...

Glycopeptide-resistant enterococci (GRE) associated with multiple antibiotic resistance present a major challenge to clinical practice and infection control due to limited or nonexistent antimicrobial treatment options. The genes encoding VanA- and VanB-type glycopeptide resistance have been shown to reside on transposons Tn1546 and Tn1547, respectively. These transferable genetic elements may ...

Despite considerable research invested in the generation of referring expressions (GRE), there still exists no adequate generic procedure for GRE involving relations. In this paper, we present a system for GRE that combines attributes and relations, using best-first search technique. Preliminary evaluations show its effectiveness; the design enables the use of heuristics that meet linguistic pr...

Forty-six VanA glycopeptide-resistant enterococci (GRE) from a single patient were investigated for variation in structure and location of VanA resistance elements. Together with identification to species level and pulsed-field gel electrophoresis, these data divided the GRE into 10 groups and subgroups. Combining data in this manner appears helpful when investigating the epidemiology of GRE.
