Conventional explicit nite diierence schemes for the advection equations are subject to the time step restrictions dictated by the CFL condition. In many situations, time step sizes are not chosen to satisfy accuracy requirements but rather to satisfy the CFL condition. In this paper we present explicit algorithms which are stable far beyond the CFL restriction. Similar or even better accuracy ...

In this paper, we suggest and analyze a new implicit iterative projection method for solving general nonconvex variational inequalities. We prove that the new implicit method is equivalent to the modified projection method. Using this alternative equivalence between the implicit method and the modified projection, we prove that the convergence of the new implicit method requires only the partia...

The processing of changing nonverbal social signals such as facial expressions is poorly understood, and it is unknown if different pathways are activated during effortful (explicit), compared to implicit, processing of facial expressions. Thus we used fMRI to determine which brain areas subserve processing of high-valence expressions and if distinct brain areas are activated when facial expres...

This PET study is concerned with the what, where, and how of implicit sequence learning. In contrast with previous studies imaging the serial reaction time (SRT) task, the sequence of successive locations was determined by a probabilistic finite-state grammar. The implicit acquisition of statistical relationships between serially ordered elements (i.e., what) was studied scan by scan, aiming to...

We use the auxiliary principle technique to suggest and analyze an implicit method for solving the equilibrium problems on Hadamard manifolds. The convergence of this new implicit method requires only the speudomonotonicity, which is a weaker condition than monotonicity. Some special cases are also considered.

Previous research has revealed that people value morality as a more important person characteristic than competence. In this study, we tested whether people adjust their less explicit behavior more to moral than competence values. Participants performed an Implicit Association Test (IAT) that was either framed as a test of their morality or as a test of their competence. The behavioral results ...

This experimental study investigated whether implicitly priming mindfulness would facilitate psychological and cortisol recovery after undergoing a standardized psychological stressor. After completing baseline measures of well-being, all participants (N = 91) completed a public speaking stress task, were implicitly primed with "mindfulness" or "neutral" concepts using a scrambled sentence task...

The method of Asymptotic Inner Boundary Condition for Singularly Perturbed Two-Point Boundary value Problems is presented. By using a terminal point, the original second order problem is divided in to two problems namely inner region and outer region problems. The original problem is replaced by an asymptotically equivalent first order problem and using the stretching transformation, the asympt...

BACKGROUND Previous findings revealed that the acquisition of new semantic concepts' labels was impaired in uncomplicated alcoholic patients. The use of errorless learning may therefore allow them to improve learning performance. However, the flexibility of the new knowledge and the memory processes involved in errorless learning remain unclear. METHOD New concepts' labels acquisition was exa...
