W. Holsztynski Sergei Ovchinnikov

In this note we show, following W. Holsztynski, that there is a continuous metric d on R such that any finite metric space is isometrically embeddable into (R, d). Let M be a family of metric spaces. A metric space U is said to be a universal space for M if any space from M is (isometrically) embeddable in U . Fréchet [2] proved that l (the space of all bounded sequences of real numbers endowed...

1.1. Normed spaces. Recall that a (real) vector space V is called a normed space if there exists a function ‖ · ‖ : V → R such that (1) ‖f‖ ≥ 0 for all f ∈ V and ‖f‖ = 0 if and only if f = 0. (2) ‖af‖ = |a| ‖f‖ for all f ∈ V and all scalars a. (3) (Triangle inequality) ‖f + g‖ ≤ ‖f ||+ ‖g‖ for all f, g ∈ V . If V is a normed space, then d(f, g) = ‖f−g‖ defines a metric on V . Convergence w.r.t ...

recently, phiangsungnoen et al. [j. inequal. appl. 2014:201 (2014)] studied fuzzy mappings in the framework of hausdorff fuzzy metric spaces.following this direction of research, we establish the existence of fixed fuzzy points of fuzzy mappings. an example is given to support the result proved herein; we also present a coincidence and common fuzzy point result. finally, as an application of ou...

in this paper the bagley-torvik equation as a prototype fractional differential equation with two derivatives is investigated by means of homotopy perturbation method. the results reveal that the present method is very effective and accurate.

in this paper, we prove the existence of fixed point for chatterjea type mappings under $c$-distance in cone metric spaces endowed with a graph. the main results extend, generalized and unified some fixed point theorems on $c$-distance in metric and cone metric spaces.

in this paper, we give some results on the common fixed point of self-mappings defined on complete $b$-metric spaces. our results generalize kannan and chatterjea fixed point theorems on complete $b$-metric spaces. in particular, we show that two self-mappings satisfying a contraction type inequality have a unique common fixed point. we also give some examples to illustrate the given results.

in this paper, we improve some recent coupled fixed point resultsfor single-valued operators in the framework of ordered $b$-metricspaces established by bota et al. [m-f. bota, a. petrusel, g.petrusel and b. samet, coupled fixed point theorems forsingle-valued operators in b-metric spaces, fixed point theoryappl. (2015) 2015:231]. also, we prove that perov-type fixed pointtheorem in ordered gen...

In this paper, we prove that a non-Riemannian isotropic Berwald metric or a non-Riemannian (α,β) -metric admits no concurrent vector fields. We also prove that an L-reducible Finsler metric admitting a concurrent vector field reduces to a Landsberg metric.In this paper, we prove that a non-Riemannian isotropic Berwald metric or a non-Riemannian (α,β) -metric admits no concurrent vector fi...

the time-optimal trajectory for an airplane from some starting point to some final point is studied by many authors. here, we consider the extension of robot planer motion of dubins model in three dimensional spaces. in this model, the system has independent bounded control over both the altitude velocity and the turning rate of airplane movement in a non-obstacle space. here, in this paper a g...

We give a new algorithm for enumerating all possible embeddings of a metric space (i.e., the distances between every pair within a set of n points) into R Cartesian space preserving their l∞ (or l1) metric distances. Its expected time is O(n 2 log n) (i.e. within a poly-log of the size of the input) beating the previous O(n) algorithm. In contrast, we prove that detecting l ∞ embeddings is NP-c...
