Machine Translation is the translation of one natural language into another using automated and computerized means. For a multilingual country like India, with the huge amount of information exchanged between various regions and in different languages in digitized format, it has become necessary to find an automated process from one language to another. In this paper, we take a look at the vari...
Perception and Implementation of Machine Translation Applications by the Iranian English Translators
The present study is an attempt to provide a relatively comprehensive preview of the Iranian English translators’ perception on Machine Translation. Furthermore, the study tries to shed light on the status of implementation of Machine Translation among the Iranian English Translators. To reach the aforementioned objectives, the Localization Industry Standards Association’s questioner for measur...
Lay people discussing machine translation systems often perform a round trip translation, that is translating a text into a foreign language and back, to measure the quality of the system. The idea behind this is that a good system will produce a round trip translation that is exactly (or perhaps very close to) the original text. However, people working with machine translation systems intuitiv...
We describe the CMU-UKA Syntax Augmented Machine Translation system ‘SAMT’ used for the shared task “Machine Translation for European Languages” at the ACL 2007 Workshop on Statistical Machine Translation. Following an overview of syntax augmented machine translation, we describe parameters for components in our open-source SAMT toolkit that were used to generate translation results for the Spa...
We maintain that the essential feature that characterizes a Machine Translation approach and sets it apart from other approaches is the kind of knowledge it uses. From this perspective, we argue that Example-Based Machine Translation is sometimes characterized in terms of inessential features. We show that Example-Based Machine Translation, as long as it is linguistically principled, significan...

This paper describes the LMU Munich English→German machine translation systems. We participated with neural translation engines in the WMT17 shared task on machine translation of news, as well as in the biomedical translation task. LMU Munich’s systems deliver competitive machine translation quality on both news articles and health information texts.
Abstract Neural machine translation (NMT) is an approach to (MT) that uses deep learning techniques, a broad area of based on artificial neural networks (NNs). The book Machine Translation by Philipp Koehn targets range readers including researchers, scientists, academics, advanced undergraduate or postgraduate students, and users MT, covering wider topics fundamental network-based techniques m...
