Dihydrochalcones and 5-deoxyflavones are types of compounds possessing various biologically interesting properties. Herein, we report the concise and divergent total syntheses of several naturally occurring dihydrochalcones and 5-deoxyflavones from readily available starting materials. The divergent strategy is based around manipulation of a common chalcone scaffold and features application of ...
Anti-inflammatory Activity of Mimosa pudica Linn. (Mimosaceae) Leaves : An Ethnpharmacological study
Anti-inflammatory activity of ethanolic extract of Mimosa pudica leaves was investigated at the doses of 200 and 400 mg/kg using carrageenan induced paw edema and cotton pellete granuloma technique in albino rats. The extracts showed significant activity in dose dependent manner as compared to control group. The observations suggested that the extract of M. pudica leaves were effective in exuda...
Guided by a biosynthetic hypothesis, a serendipitous total synthesis of yuremamine has resulted in its structural revision from the putative pyrroloindole (1) to the flavonoidal indole (2), which was initially proposed as a biosynthetic intermediate.
We present the draft genome of Cupriavidus UYMMa02A, a rhizobium strain isolated from root nodules of Mimosa magentea The assembly has approximately 8.1 million bp with an average G+C of 64.1%. Symbiotic and metal-resistance genes were identified. The study of this genome will contribute to the understanding of rhizobial evolution.
Fourteen strains were isolated from nitrogen-fixing nodules on the roots of plants of the genus Mimosa growing in Taiwan, Brazil and Venezuela. On the basis of 16S rRNA gene sequence similarities, all of the strains were previously shown to be closely related to each other and to belong to the genus Burkholderia. A polyphasic approach, including DNA-DNA reassociation, whole-cell protein analysi...
In this paper the plant Mimosa pudica’s response to changed illumination conditions is being examined. An image processing routine, using the HSV color model and triangle intensity threshold segmentation, is developed to segment time-lapse image series of Mimosa pudica, quantifying the plant’s image pixel count as a measure of movement. Furthermore, the method of Farnebäck is used to estimate d...
Detailed studies of the resolution of a EUDET-type beam telescope are carried out using the DATURA beam telescope as an example. The EUDET-type beam telescopes make use of CMOS MIMOSA 26 pixel detectors for particle tracking allowing for precise characterisation of particle sensing devices. A profound understanding of the performance of the beam telescope as a whole is obtained by a detailed ch...
Special red cells were found on the adaxial surface of tertiary pulvini of Mimosa pudica and experiments performed to determine the origin and function of these cells. Using anatomical (light, scanning electron and transmission electron microscopy) and electrophysiological techniques, we have demonstrated that these red cells are real mechanoreceptor cells. They can generate receptor potential ...
Traditional publish/subscribe (pub/sub) systems may fail or cause longer message latency and higher computing resource usage in the presence of changes in the execution environment. We present the design and implementation of Mimosa Pudica, an adaptive and reliable middleware for adapting various changes in pub/sub systems. At the heart of Mimosa Pudica are two design ideas. First, the brokers ...
The present study deals with the isolation of fourteen compounds from the active ethyl acetate (MPE) extract of M. pudica (L.) whole plant and their subsequent evaluation for the nitric oxide (NO), tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) and interleukin 1 beta (IL-1ß) inhibitory activities in lipopolysaccharide (LPS) stimulated RAW 264.7 and J774A.1 cells. Among the tested compounds, L-mimosine (12...
