An odorant-binding protein from the Southern house mosquito, Culex pipiens quinquefasciatus (Cqui-OBP1) binds to the mosquito oviposition pheromone (MOP), 6-acetoxy-5-hexadecanolide to facilitate the transport of MOP to membrane-bound odorant receptors. We report complete NMR chemical shift assignments of Cqui-OBP1 bound to the MOP pheromone obtained at pH 7.0 and 25 degrees C (BMRB no. 16175).

Nociceptin/orphanin FQ peptide receptor (NOP) agonists produce antinociceptive effects in animal models after spinal administration and potentiate μ-opioid receptor (MOP)-mediated antinociception. This study determined the antinociceptive effects of spinally administered bifunctional NOP/MOP ligands and the antinociceptive functions of spinal NOP and MOP receptors in mice. Antinociceptive effec...

7-Methylguanine was found in hydrolysates of liver and pancreas DNA from Syrian golden hamsters given a single dose of N-[1-14C]nitrosobis(2-oxopropyl)amine (BOP). This led us to examine the carcinogenicity of a potential methylating metabolite of BOP, N-nitrosomethyl(2-oxopropyl)amine (MOP). MOP was found to be a potent pancreatic carcinogen by either single or weekly s.c. injections. A single...

This note is motivated by the similarity between multiobjective programming (MOP) and bargaining theory. It uses the known MOP concepts to establish two new bargaining results: (1) the efficiency of KalaiSmorodinsky (KS) and Nash (NA) solutions for large classes of bargaining problems can be refined to the sharper concept of proper efficiency; (2) the independence of irrelevant alternatives (II...

The use of metalevel architectures for the implementation of fault-tolerant systems is today very appealing. Nevertheless, all such fault-tolerant systems have used a general-purpose metaobject protocol (MOP) or are based on restricted reflective features of some object-oriented language. According to our past experience, we define in this paper a suitable metaobject protocol, called FT-MOP for...
