nano silica-h2so4 is an efficient and mild catalysis system for the regeneration of aldehyde from aldoximes. ketoximes are converted to amides by beckmann rearrangement in the presence of nano silica-h2so4. the reactions are carried out in solvent-free conditions under microwave irradiation (600 w) within 50-120 sec in good yields.

The term " pyroplasticity" refers to the deformation of the white ware that occurs during firing. In particular, this phenomenon is particularly important for tiles fired in roller kiln (especially thin and large dimensions) and the roughness created on the surface by vertical weight. In this study, 1, 3 and 5% of nanosilica and microsilica were replaced in porcelain tile batch. The effect of n...

Gerbera (Gerbera jamesonii L.) is one of the most important cut flowers in the world and nutrient solutions are the most important elements that increase quality and quantity of gerbera flowers. In this study, the effect of adding silicon, as an important mineral, from two sources of potassium silicate and nano silica, was investigated on physiological traits of gerbera flower, cv. Yanara. In t...

The superhydrophobic silica coating has a great performance of self-cleaning which can be applied in the field of energy saving, anti-icing, drag reduction, etc. In this paper, Trimethyltrimethoxysilane (MTMS) /Trimethylchlorosilan (TMCS) superhydrophobic silica coating with two-layer structure was dip-coated. Atomic force microscope (AFM) images show that the surface morphology of MTMS/TMCS si...

Nanosilica periodic acid (nano-SPIA) is found to be a new, powerful, and reusable heterogeneous catalyst for the rapid synthesis of 2-naphtholazo dyes via diazotization of aromatic amines and followsazo coupling with 2-naphthol under solvent-free conditions at room temperature by grinding. Eco-friendly, heterogeneous reaction conditions, high stability of diazonium salt, simple experimental pro...

Nano-silica-bonded 3-n-propyl-1-sulfonic acid imidazolium chloride (nano-SB-[PSIM]Cl) was applied as a highly efficient, general and heterogeneous catalyst for one pot multi-component reaction of 2-naphthol, arylaldehydes, and thioacetamide leading to 1-thioamidolakyl-2-naphthols. All reactions proceeded with excellent yields in short times under solvent-free conditions. Our protocol w...

This current study reviews the utilization of traditional extraction methods and latest findings in silica from agricultural wastes, particular, sugarcane bagasse, using inorganic acids to produce nano-silicon. The three key processes discussed detail include electrochemical, ball milling, sol–gel processes. bagasse has been identified as cheapest source producing potential raw material for pre...

The effects of adding Nano-Silica particles on the compressive strength and water permeability of concrete and its comparison with that of Micro-Silica were investigated in this work. The effect of combination of Nano- silica and Micro-silica were also studied in this work, which resulted in an increase in compressive strength of concrete in comparison with other concrete specimens tested in th...

Diatoms are eukaryotic microalgae that produce species-specifically structured cell walls made of SiO(2) (silica). Formation of the intricate silica structures of diatoms is regarded as a paradigm for biomolecule-controlled self-assembly of three-dimensional, nano- to microscale-patterned inorganic materials. Silica formation involves long-chain polyamines and phosphoproteins (silaffins and sil...
