Preoperative planning of any surgical procedure, especially rhinoplasty, is crucial in order to achieve an optimal outcome which will satisfy both the surgeon and patient. Use of imaging and the possibility of virtually displaying the changes planned by the surgeon definitely lead to a better understanding between doctor and patient. Although these new technologies have led to undeniable advant...

The duty to obtain consent from a litigant before beginning a forensic evaluation has fallen to the forensic psychologist. Guidelines, ethical standards, and commentators have made this assumed duty mandatory. Unfortunately, psychologists are not able to provide accurate and detailed legal information concerning the forensic evaluation. Only a person trained in the law would be qualified, and t...

This paper presents and philosophically assesses three types of results on the observational equivalence of continuous-time measure-theoretic deterministic and indeterministic descriptions. The first results establish observational equivalence to abstract mathematical descriptions. The second results are stronger because they show observational equivalence between deterministic and indeterminis...

Subtyping in first order object calculi is studied with respect to the logical semantics obtained by identifying terms that satisfy the same set of predicates, as formalized through an assignment system. It is shown that equality in the full first order ς-calculus is modelled by this notion, which on turn is included in a Morris style contextual equivalence.

This paper uses the National Family Health Survey (NFHS) data collected in 1992-93 to estimate the determinants of child (aged 6 to 14) enrollment and educational attainment of a recent cohort (aged 15 to 19) in India. The analysis produces five major results. First, using an index of assets as a proxy for household wealth shows enormous gaps between the enrollment and attainment of children fr...

This paper introduces a class of graphs deened as the models of a peculiar kind of linear bounded machines that read their input performing all computations on work tapes. It is proven that this class is closed, up to observational equivalence, under synchronized product. The rst{order theory of these graphs is investegated and shown to be undecidable. The latter result extends to any logic in ...

The propensity score is defined as a subject's probability of treatment selection, conditional on observed baseline covariates. Weighting subjects by the inverse probability of treatment received creates a synthetic sample in which treatment assignment is independent of measured baseline covariates. Inverse probability of treatment weighting (IPTW) using the propensity score allows one to obtai...
