We investigate experimentally and theoretically the fluorescence emitted by molecular ensembles as well as spatially isolated, single molecules of an organic dye immobilized in a quasi-planar optical microresonator at room temperature. The optically excited dipole emitters couple simultaneously to onand off-axis cavity resonances of the microresonator. The multi-spectral radiative contributions...

Rib waveguides have been fabricated in pulsed-laser-deposited Ti:sapphire layers using photolithographic patterning and subsequent Ar-beam milling. Fluorescence output powers up to 300 W have been observed from the ribs following excitation by a 3-W multiline argon laser. Mode intensity profiles show high optical confinement and the measured beam propagation factors 2 and 2 of 1.12 and 1.16, re...

We describe a multipole formulation that can be used for high-accuracy calculations of the full complex propagation constant of a microstructured optical fiber with a finite number of holes. We show how the imaginary part of the microstructure, which describes confinement losses not associated with absorption, varies with hole size, the number of rings of holes, and wavelength, and give the min...

We theoretically investigate the spectral and localization properties of two-dimensional (2D) deterministic aperiodic (DA) arrays of photonic nanopillars characterized by singular continuous (Thue-Morse sequence) and absolutely continuous (Rudin-Shapiro sequence) Fourier spectra. A rigorous and efficient numerical technique based on the 2D Generalized Multiparticle Mie Theory is used to study t...

Plasmon lasers are a new class of coherent optical amplifiers that generate and sustain light well below its diffraction limit. Their intense, coherent and confined optical fields can enhance significantly light-matter interactions and bring fundamentally new capabilities to bio-sensing, data storage, photolithography and optical communications. However, metallic plasmon laser cavities generall...

in this thesis, structural, electronical, and optical properties of inverse pervskite(ca3pbo) in cubic phase have been investigated.the calculation have been done based on density functional theory and according to generalized gradiant approximate (gga) as correlating potential. in order to calculate the configurations, implementing in the wien2k code have been used from 2013 version. first of ...

We demonstrate dynamic manipulation of microscopic particles using a DMDproduced projection image in an optoelectronics tweezers system. Single-particle trapping and movement (up to 40 μm/sec) via optically-induced dielectrophoresis were observed. 2003 Optical Society of America OCIS codes: (170.4520) Optical confinement and manipulation, (230.0250) Optoelectronics

We investigate the waveguiding properties of the optical interference pattern of two counterpropagating Laguerre-Gaussian beams. The number, helicity, radius, pitch, depth and frequencies of transverse confinement of the waveguides are simply related to the beam parameters. Quantitative connections to the familiar Gaussian optical lattice are made and an application to quantum transport is sugg...

We describe the experimental realization of a dynamical optical trap for atoms: the Rotating Off-resonant Dipole Optical (RODiO) Trap. A blue detuned circularly scanned laser beam creates a time averaged ;;box" for the atoms. We characterized this novel confinement technique by varying the trapping geometry and the laser beam parameters. Our observations agree well with a numerical model.
