thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura is the result of multiple thrombus disseminated in small arterioles throughout the body. principle damage is in the endothelium of small vessels and capillaries. from 1982 to 1999, 28 patients (16 female and 12 male) have been treated for ttp. the outcome was evaluated for risk factors and prognosis. these patients were 18 to 69 years old. all had neurologica...

In this research, the densification of magnesia nanopowder with a mean particle size of about 100 nm was investigated by spark plasma sintering undera pressures of 80 MPa and at temperature range from 1000 °C to 1400 °C and a heating rate of 50 °C/min for 20 minutes. The density of the samples slowly increased with increasing sintering temperatures to 1200 °C. Afterwards, with more increasing o...

Gauge/string duality is a potentially important framework for addressing the properties of the strongly coupled quark gluon plasma produced at RHIC. However, constructing an actual string theory dual to QCD has so far proven elusive. In this paper, we take a partial step towards exploring the QCD plasma by investigating the thermodynamics of a non-conformal system, namely the N = 2 theory, whic...

introduction: diabetes mellitus is an growing national and international public health concern. the number of people affected by diabetes in world by 2030 will be 69% in developing countries. regular physical activity plays a key role in the management of type 2 diabetes melitus, particularly glycemic control. it has been recommended that peoples with type 2 diabetes participate in moderate-int...

We first construct a consistent Kaluza-Klein reduction ansatz for type IIB theory compactified on Sasaki-Einstein manifolds Y p,q with Freund-Rubin 5-form flux giving rise to minimal N = 2 gauged supergravity in five dimensions. We then investigate the R-charged black hole solution in this gauged supergravity, and in particular study its thermodynamics. Based on the gauge theory/string theory c...

A one-dimensional kinetic theory of sheaths surrounding planar, electron-emitting surfaces is presented which accounts for plasma electrons lost to the surface and the temperature of the emitted electrons. It is shown that ratio of plasma electron temperature to emitted electron temperature significantly affects the sheath potential when the plasma electron temperature is within an order of mag...

[1] This is a tutorial review on systems theory and its applications to space plasma physics and, more broadly, on geophysics. With its basis on the state representation of a plasma the theory is widely applicable, but it is of particular interest for dynamical, nonlinear, or out-of-equilibrium regimes that cannot be represented by traditional microscopic modeling. Two distinct, but closely rel...

Noise theory is used to study the temporal correlations of stationary random fluctuations that are homogeneous in space. Statistical properties of the fluctuations, such as the power spectrum and the correlation function, are computed. The results are compared with the observed plasma density fluctuations from tokamak experiments.
