We exhibit 3 families of complete curvature homogeneous pseudo-Riemannian manifolds which are modeled on irreducible symmetric spaces and which are not locally homogeneous. All of the manifolds have nilpotent Jacobi operators; some of the manifolds are, in addition, Jordan Osserman and Jordan Ivanov-Petrova.

We give a simple formula for the essential dimension of a finite pseudoreflection group at a prime p and determine the absolute essential dimension for most irreducible pseudo-reflection groups. We also study the “poor man’s essential dimension” of an arbitrary finite group, an intermediate notion between the absolute essential dimension and the essential dimension at a prime p.

In this paper we study the convergence of Riemannian submanifolds. In particular, we prove that any sequence of closed submanifolds with bounded normal curvature and volume in a closed Riemannian manifold subconverge to a closed submanifold in the C1 ,Q topology. We also obtain some applications to irreducible homogeneous manifolds and pseudo-holomorphic curves in symplectic manifolds.
