Solid pseudopapillary neoplasms (SPNs) of the pancreas are rare and typically arise in young women. The optimal management of a pregnant woman suspected of having an SPN of the pancreas head is unclear. We report such a case where close monitoring for tumor growth was done during pregnancy and a successful pancreaticoduodenectomy was performed after term delivery.
Solid-pseudopapillary neoplasm of the pancreas (SPPNP) is a primary epithelial neoplasm of the exocrine pancreas with borderline malignant potential. The unusual features included the ‘giant’ size and the absence of metastases/ capsular or vascular invasion despite the large size and predominantly solid nature. At two years following complete excision, she is asymptomatic and the imaging shows ...
A solid pseudopapillary tumour (SPT) is an uncommon pancreatic tumour. Very rarely it has also been described outside the pancreas, usually arising from heterotopic pancreatic tissue. In this paper, we described a case arising from the transverse mesocolon without heterotopic pancreatic tissue in an 18-year-old girl.
Solid pseudopapillary tumors of the pancreas are very rare, low-grade malignant potentially curable neoplasms. Despite having non-specific symptomatology, they have typical features such as being more common in young women, and classically presenting as large abdominal masses. Accurate diagnosis is important because long-term survival hinges on complete resection of the tumor.
We report a case of pancreatic solid pseudopapillary tumor that was diagnosed in a 36-year-old female patient. This neoplasm usually occurs in young women. Solid and cystic areas form a characteristic appearance of this tumor. Surgical resection is the mainstay of treatment and is possible in the majority of cases. Neoplasm is associated with a low-grade malignancy and a very good outlook.
Solid pseudopapillary tumor (SPT) is a rare pancreatic tumor with low malignancy, constituting 1-2% of exocrine pancreatic tumors, occurring mostly in young women. SPT, despite the achievement of large size gives scant clinical symptoms. The authors present the case of 39-year-old woman with SPT, diagnosed at intraoperative biopsy. The aim of this study is to describe the clinicopathological fe...
