In this study, the effect of different numbers of layers of reduced graphene oxide (RGO) on the ferromagnetic behavior of zinc oxide-reduced graphene oxide (ZnO-RGO) hybrid architectures has been investigated. Scanning and transmission electron microscopy along with x-ray diffraction of these hybrids confirm that ZnO nanorods are wrapped with different numbers of layers of RGO in a controlled w...

The photoinduced growth reaction of silver nanoparticles was accelerated by reduced graphene oxide (RGO) produced from graphene oxide (GO) during the light irradiation process in aqueous solution. X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and Raman spectroscopy demonstrated that RGO was generated in the photoinduced process. The acceleration effect of RGO was investigated through monitoring the ex...

The extended application of graphene-based electronic devices requires a bandgap opening in order to realize the targeted device functionality. Since the bandgap tuning of pristine graphene is limited to 360 meV, the chemical modification of graphene is considered essential to achieve a large bandgap opening at the expense of electrical properties degradation. Reduced graphene oxide (RGO) has a...

Graphite oxide (GO) is a well known material since the middle of the XIX century. In the latest years it has attracted a renewed fame and interest as a precursor for a cheap large-scale production of graphene. Indeed, GO conserves the layered structure of graphite with an expanded interlayer distance that facilitates exfoliation, a subsequent reduction yields a material whose properties are ver...

Up to now, lots of materials such as active carbon, iron, manganese, zirconium, and metal oxides have been widely used for removal of dyes from contaminated water. Among these, ferrite nanoparticle is an interesting magnetic material due to its moderate saturation magnetization, excellent chemical stability and mechanical hardness. Graphene, a new class of 2D carbonaceous material with atom thi...

Electrohydrodynamic inkjet printing of reduced graphene oxide (RGO) is de-monstrated to form complex geometric devices with high resolution (line width ≈ 5 mm). Both planar and highly curved surfaces (radius of curvature ≈ 60 mm) can be used as substrates. Demonstrations of counterfeit coin recognition using RGO patterns and all-printed RGO transistors suggest substantial promise for applicatio...

Boron-doped reduced graphene oxide (B-RGO) synthesized by a facile one-step reflux route is able to exhibit significantly higher photocatalytic activity than non-doped RGO under visible light irradiation. New insights accounting for this photocatalytic activity improvement are discussed, which is distinctly different from the case of B-RGO nanoribbons under UV light irradiation.

We developed a new method for fabricating reduced graphene oxide (RGO)/Fe-oxide structures from graphene oxide (GO), and for the simultaneous vertical alignment of the RGOs using a single-step process that involves a magnetic field and the fixation of the aligned structures by means of direct evaporation of the films.

Reduced graphene oxide (RGO) due to its excellent electrochemical properties and large surface area, has recently aroused much interest for electrochemical biosensing application. Here, the chemically active RGO has been synthesized and deposited onto an indium tin oxide (ITO) coated glass substrate by the electrophoretic deposition technique. This novel platform has been utilized for covalent ...
