The origin of the suppression of the longitudinal spin Seebeck effect by applied magnetic fields is studied. We perform numerical simulations of the stochastic Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert equation of motion for an atomistic spin model and calculate the magnon accumulation in linear temperature gradients for different strengths of applied magnetic fields and different length scales of the temperatur...
Thermoelectric materials convert a temperature difference into electricity and vice versa. Such materials utilize the Seebeck effect for power generation and the Peltier effect for cooling. In the Seebeck effect, a temperature difference across a material causes the diffusion of charged carriers across that gradient, thus creating a voltage difference between the hot and cold ends of the materi...
We propose a mechanism of the spin Seebeck effect attributed to excitonic condensation in nonmagnetic insulator. analyze half-filled two-orbital Hubbard model with crystalline field splitting strong coupling limit. In this model, competition between and electron correlations brings about an insulating state, where two orbitals are spontaneously hybridized. Using generalized spin-wave theory Bol...
In this work, we have developed a thermal sensor based on poly(3,4 ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) nano lms as thermoelectric material. The PEDOT nano lms have been synthesized by the electrochemical polymerization method. The thicknesses of the lms were around 120 nm. The doping level of PEDOT was controlled by chemical reduction using hydrazine. The achieved Seebeck coefficient is 40 μV/K. A ...

We investigate the basic properties of the thermopower (Seebeck coefficient) of phase-coherent conductors under the influence of dephasing and inelastic processes. Transport across the system is caused by a voltage bias or a thermal gradient applied between two terminals. Inelastic scattering is modeled with the aid of an additional probe acting as an ideal potentiometer and thermometer. We fin...
