this study focuses on tracing the clearly defined elements of magic realism in toni morrison’s song of solomon as an illustrious african american example of the mode. magic realism is a fictional technique that combines fantasy with raw physical reality in a search for truth beyond that available from the surface of everyday life. toni morrison, as a distinguished african-american practitioner ...
Alcohol oxidation plays an essential contribution to the chemical industry. Innovative green techniques, such as ultrasound irradiation, could be economically remarkable by enhancing reaction yield. In this research, design and improvement of a new ultrasound-assisted alcohols procedure using CrO3 supported Al2O3 with addition small amount t- butanol were reported. The was also done without irr...
The continuous innovation in hydrogenation technology is testimony to its growing importance in the manufacture of specialty and fine chemicals. New developments in equipment, process intensification and catalysis represent major themes that have undergone recent advances. Developments in chiral catalysis, methods to support and fix homogeneous catalysts, novel reactor and mixing technology, hi...
Highly fluorescent, stable, water-soluble Ag nanoclusters have been successfully prepared via a convenient sonochemical approach using a simple polyelectrolyte, polymethylacrylic acid (PMAA), as a capping agent. The optical and fluorescence properties of the Ag nanoclusters can be easily controlled by varying the synthetic conditions, such as sonication time, stoichiometry of the carboxylate gr...
The acoustic emission from collapsing cavitation bubbles generated using ultrasound of 20 kHz and 515 kHz frequencies in water has been measured and correlated with sonoluminescence and hydroxyl radical production to yield further information on the frequency dependence of sonochemical reactions. A reasonable correlation was found, and the results suggest differences in the predominant types of...
The development of non-toxic quantum dots and further investigation of their composition-dependent cytotoxicity in a high-throughput manner have been critical challenges for biomedical imaging and gene delivery. Herein, we report a rapid sonochemical synthetic methodology for generating a library of highly biocompatible ZnS-AgInS(2) (ZAIS) quantum dots for cellular imaging and siRNA delivery.
A novel application of surface-modified protein nanospheres as potential antiviral agents is illustrated. By using a single-step sonochemical process, bovine serum albumin nanospheres were generated, whose surface was covalently conjugated with mercaptoethane sulfonate to chemically and electrostatically mimic cellular heparan sulfate. The nanospheres effectively inhibited HSV-1 infection.
