C57BL/6J-T-associated sex reversal (B6-TAS) in XY mice results in ovarian development and involves (1) hemizygosity for Tas, a gene located in the region of Chromosome 17 deleted in T(hp) and T(Orl), (2) homozygosity for one or more B6-derived autosomal genes, and (3) the presence of the AKR Y chromosome. Here we report results from experiments designed to investigate the Y chromosome component...

We completely solve the family of relative Thue equations x − (t − 1)xy − (t + 2)xy − y = μ, where the parameter t, the root of unity μ and the solutions x and y are integers in the same imaginary quadratic number field. This is achieved using the hypergeometric method for |t| ≥ 53 and Baker’s method combined with a computer search using continued fractions for the remaining values of t.

Let F be a 2-transitive group of finite degree v such that the stabilizer T xy of the distinct points x and y fixes precisely k points, where 2 < k < v. The only known non-solvable groups with this property are of the following types: (i) a 2-transitive collineation group of PG(d, 2) for some d; (ii) a 2-transitive collineation group of AG(d, k) for some d; and (iii) PFL(2, 8) in its representa...

We report the temperature (T) and perpendicular magnetic-field (B) dependence of the Hall resistivity rho(xy)(B) of dilute metallic 2D holes in GaAs over a broad range of temperature (0.02-1.25 K). The low B Hall coefficient, R(H), is found to be enhanced when T decreases. Strong magnetic fields further enhance the slope of rho(xy)(B) at all temperatures studied. Coulomb interaction corrections...

Given a weighted graph G = (V,E) and a real number t ≥ 1, a t-spanner of G is a spanning subgraph G′ with the property that for every edge xy in G, there exists a path between x and y in G′ whose weight is no more than t times the weight of the edge xy. We review results and present open problems on different variants of the problem of constructing plane geometric t-spanners.

Kitaev physics has recently attracted attention in condensed matter for its anticipated novel quantum spin liquid state. The thermal transport measurement is crucial probing the features of charge-neutral quasiparticles. In this letter, we report a significant Hall effect $Na_2Co_2TeO_6$ (NCTO), candidate, when magnetic field applied along out-of-plane direction honeycomb plane. conductivity ($...

We carry out extensive Monte Carlo simulations of the three-dimensional uniformly frustrated XY model with uncorrelated randomly perturbed couplings, as a model for the equilibrium behavior of an extreme type-II superconductor with quenched uncorrelated random point vortex pinning, in the presence of a uniform applied magnetic field. We map out the resulting phase diagram as a function of tempe...
