Among the challenges facing world community at modern stage, one of leading ones is issue qualitative state environment, where links creation a proper control system. The small number automatic air monitoring stations in Tbilisi cannot reflect full ambient pollution. Based on above, it necessary to rehabilitate and modernize pollution quality network achieve safe condition for human health natu...

BACKGROUND Over the last 15 years, visceral leishmaniasis (VL) has emerged as a public health concern in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. METHODOLOGY/PRINCIPAL FINDINGS Seroepidemiological surveys were conducted to determine the prevalence and incidence of infection in children and dogs within the main focus of VL, and to identify risk factors associated with human infection. Of 4,250 childre...

We show that spontaneous breaking of discrete or continuous symmetries does not necessarily imply either symmetry restoration or the thermal production of defects at high temperature (at least up to T ∼ MP lanck). This may imply that there is no domain wall problem. As an example we show how this applies to the Peccei-Quinn scenario. Permanent address: Institute of Physics, Georgian Academy of ...

We show that in certain theories with topologically trivial quotient space of spontaneously broken gauge symmetry there can exist topologically stable strings that carry nonabelian gauge flux. These objects result from the “accidental” global degeneracy of the vacuum which makes it topologically nontrivial. In particular, some models contain the semiglobal analog of the Alice strings. ∗Permanen...

We consider orbifold GUTs with N = 1 supersymmetry in which the Standard Model (SM) gauge couplings are unified at MGUT ≃ 2×1016 GeV with one of the third family (charged) Yukawa couplings. With split supersymmetry the SM Higgs mass is estimated to be 131±10 GeV for gauge-top quark Yukawa unification, which increases to 146± 8 GeV for gauge-bottom quark (or gauge-tau lepton) Yukawa unification....
