The aim of this paper is to recommend a new strategy for the analytical validation based on the uncertainty profile as a graphical decision-making tool, and to exemplify a novel method to estimate the measurement uncertainty. Indeed, the innovative formula that we offer to assess the uncertainty is based on the calculation of the β-content tolerance interval. Three chemometric methodologies are...

A time-course gene-expression profile was generated for Escherichia coli TK31 when it was exposed to an organic solvent mixture, and classified by fuzzy adaptive resonance theory (Fuzzy ART). It was found that the purR regulon plays an important role in the organic solvent tolerance (OST) of E. coli.

Methods We examine the prevalence of MetS in a cohort of Caucasian women with previous gestational diabetes (GDM) (n=116), and those with normal glucose tolerance (NGT) during pregnancy (n=51). Fasting glucose alone (known DM/pre-diabetes post-partum patients) or 75g OGTT (other patients), lipid profile, insulin and c-peptide were performed. We calculated insulin resistance using the HOMA2-IR c...

Development of an environmental friendly and cost-effective process for microbial degradation of caffeine to non-toxic compounds are promising to solve the problems of physiochemical extraction of caffeine in the treatment the caffeine containing agro-industrial effluents. Thirteen bacterial strains, isolated from tea plantation soils in the north region of Iran, were screened to show their abi...

Quality of life in patients with cardiological syndrome X (XS) and ischemic heart disease (IHD) assessed with Nottingham Health Profile questionnaire was compared to that shown by exercise tests. Compared to IHD patients, those with XS have worse quality of life. This is explained by a lower pain threshold and, consequently, lower exercise tolerance.

This paper is about new iso-parametric tool path planning for machining trimmed freeform surfaces. The trimmed surface has been re-parameterized by two different parameterization techniques, namely, the partial differential equation method and the newly developed boundary interpolation method. The efficiency of the scheme has been measured in terms of path length and computational time needed f...

Spectrum sensing is an important task in cognitive radio (CR). Matched filter technique one of the techniques employed for spectrum sensing in cognitive radio which faces the challenge of low frequency offset tolerance in very low SNR environments. Hybrid matched filter architecture is used to improve this frequency offset tolerance. But, overall even such kind of architecture results in coarse...

Opioid agonists are the most effective treatment for pain, but their use is limited by side effects, tolerance and fears of addiction and dependence. A major goal of opioid research is to develop agonists that have high analgesic efficacy and a low profile for side effects, tolerance, addiction and dependence. Unfortunately, there is a serious lack of experimental data comparing the degree to w...
