We study the wetting transition and the directed polymer delocalization transition on diamond hierarchical lattices. These two phase transitions with frozen disorder correspond to the critical points of quadratic renormalizations of the partition function. (These exact renormalizations on diamond lattices can also be considered as approximate Migdal-Kadanoff renormalizations for hypercubic latt...

The metal-insulator transition in correlated electron systems, where electron states transform from itinerant to localized, has been one of the central themes of condensed-matter physics for more than half a century. The persistence of this question has been a consequence both of the intricacy of the fundamental issues and the growing recognition of the complexities that arise in real materials...

We discuss the transition radiation of a neutrino induced by its toroid dipole moment (τ) when crossing the interface between two different media with different refraction indices. A neutrino of 1 MeV energy emits approximately 10−40 keV at τ = e √ 2GF /π 2. This effect depends very slightly on the neutrino mass and has a finite value in the massless limit.

We report the first comprehensive calculations of 2(+) excitations with a microscopic theory applicable to over 90% of the known nuclei. The theory uses a quantal collective Hamiltonian in five dimensions. The only parameters in theory are those of the finite-range, density-dependent Gogny D1S interaction. The following properties of the lowest 2(+) excitations are calculated: excitation energy...
